Pendulums are an awful mechanic because they are too generic. They function like their own archetype.

Every good pendulum deck is essentially the same. You pick the strongest "pendulum engine" currently available, splash in the Pendulum Power Cards (Which may be Plushfire, Kirin, Luster P., any future bosses) and then throw in some traps and relevant S/T support and boy you've done it.

So we're probably not going to get another splashable boss monster that goes in every pendulum deck because Konami has realized how broken Pendulum is going to get if they keep on throwing out new Boss Monsters for it to consume.

Well the whole point of the deck is Box of Friends. Master and Vector both have 0 DEF so they're valid targets, Mystery Shell Dragon is both a DARK for Evilswarm Nightmare and a Wyrm for Baxia (though you can't Synchro if you summon him off Box), and the Metalfoes are just the jank enablers.

The deck's grind game is pretty good, you can easily start with a T1 Raff+Nightmare and if you open really well, an Ignizzle/Dinoster on top of that. The main problem of the deck is space; you're often forced into situations where you have nothing worth summoning because of the 15 Extra Deck limitation.

Why not just play mermails and tech treatoad into them instead of building an entire deck around one card?

How is it a miracle? Even if Tin Goldfish is interrupted, I can still SS Bubbleman from hand often just by setting my S/T (half the deck). Obviously if he gets Veiler'd T1 that sucks, running the L4s allows me to have more monsters to rely on than just the 3-3-3 Frog engine.

That's not bad, since Bubbleman can SS itself by just setting all the E-Calls, then make a R4. That's why I use Bubbleman in this build, because half the deck is just S/T I can set to SS it. The pure build is very T1 or die. And I can't see how you're going to consistently make T1 double Treatoad without Rabbit at 3 here. And the main reason I don't like that engine here is because Dai is DEAD mid-game, just as whatever your Normal target is is only worth it's salt in hand as a Treatoad cost or to be normal summoned. You don't always open Swap Frog, no matter how much I'd like to.
