This simply means it's missing. Either it was deleted for some reason, or the package doesn't come with it. Anyway, just get some other ogg to replace it, any will do. Try to find the real one in AO or other STCoP packages first, though.

Is there a single mod that does stealth even remotely viable? I'm tired of being spotted from behind/inside bushes before even seeing anyone, playing CoC in the marshes is fucking irritating. Running luminosity factor at 0.8 and transparency threshold at 0.7 and I get spotted by shitty bandits while behind 3 fucking bushes.

I just want to fucking sneak and get the drop on people every once in a while. Fucking piece of shit.

You can't expect to walk through bushes and not be detected. Avoid them and pay attention to patrol routes. It's easy to be stealthy in stalker, you just need to be very careful and patient.

If you have a good computer, set the switch distance to something insane. This will take care of stutter. As for cash, it's more profitable to farm bandits or mutants, especially as a sniper. Artifacts suck and are worth nothing, but there are fixes that remedy that. Make sure to "sell" them through beards quests, if you can.

I was just playing it right now. Tried approaching from different angles. Visibility meter went all the way up before I even came near a bush and I didn't make absolutely any sound.

There wasn't much of a choice for me because half of the area around the outpost is heavily irradiated water, so I had little space for stealthy movement around it. I just went in guns-blazing as usual and put all the fuckers down because I got tired of it.

For CoP: AN3 + AF3 + a weapons pack like shoker or stcop weapon pack makes for a fine polish of the vanilla game, for anything more than that, SGM is the goods. its very hit and miss, overall its very good and the mod does things no other attempts to do (real actor legs for example), it actually feels different to all the other weapon mods which are mostly exchangeable aside from quality level.

Some things in it suck though, you have to turn off the gay hit indicator, 3d scopes sound great but the modelling is not on most guns, especially dual sighted ones. The optic choices for adding onto western weapons is limited to either an eotech that zooms too much or an ACOG.

I've already played TFW to death, and it's basically the sort of thing I'm looking for, but without having to fuck about with factions and shit. I just want to roam the zone on my own, looking for sweet treasure and adventures.

Ammo type really doesn't matter that much in misery, except for shit like hydra shock or 5.56 FMJ (both of which make sense: 5.56 FMJ is modeled after M193, which was used in Vietnam and caused insane wound channels; and .45 hydra shock is essentially a hollow point with AP capabilities due to a hardened core).

Using 5.45 FMJ vs AP only made a 1-2 shot difference in killing most enemies. This increases as you find enemies with heavier armor, but again that makes sense due to misery's simulation of NIJ armor ratings (while it is questionable at times and somewhat odd, I've found it does a good job).

TL;DR ammo type used only really matters if you're fighting exoskeletons or tough mutants, and even then it's based in actual study of real-life ammo types.

I switched the part with the disappearing spikes and the theory because putting the disappearing part before the theory explanation kinda makes it feel like the theory is supposed to explain the spikes disappearing. But the theory doesn't do that so it's just kinda weird.

There's 2 plugins one titled "xray_export.dlu" and the other "xray_material.dlt". Let me tell you, Brain Scorcher can be a bitch in AMK. I took a VAL with a scope and like 650 rounds 9x39 and was running low by the end so I had to use a pickup TRS-301.
So whatever you take take loads of ammo for it. Preferably something in 5.56 as almost every Monolith troop drops it. And it's good for sniping because you're gonna need to countersnipe.

The quickest, most ghetto way to get your shit working again is to remove that file and copy another voice clip and rename it as such. You lose out on whatever spoken snippet that was, but your game won't crash.

People aren't saying "vanilla is a superior experience" they're saying its a good experience to have, in order to appreciate mods more. Use one of those "reclamation project" (or whatever fix mod you choose) mods if you want a better time on your first try. Even if you don't finish the whole thing, at least give it a good try.

For your first time, play mods that don't add much content over vanilla. Bugfixes. graphics, etc. are fine (I'd recommend it, the game is pretty dated vanilla). Save bigger overhauls for subsequent playhtroughs.
