HPM, can you please add an event or decision for Germany to rename the provinces of the state of Franche-Comté? It could be similar to the event for Alsace-Lorraine. It is usually the second French state Germany goes for, so it often looks kind of unimmersive when the provinces in that state have French names while the rest of Germany has German names. These are the German names of the French provinces:
Verdun: Verden
Nancy: Nanzig
Chaumont: Kahlerberg
Epinal: Spinal/Spinneln
Besançon: Bisanz

Anyway, I got some feedback for the latest changes and I will probably roll around small patch soon.
Another thing fixed is actually a vanilla bug with the valley of kings decision. There's two decisions: one that gives you a modifier that gives infamy for forced excavations and one that doesn't. The one that doesn't would appear to the sphere owner of Egypt but he wouldn't be able to trigger it because it requires you to own Luxor, making almost everyone, even Egypt's sphere master, have to use the decision that gives infamy. It's rather redundant to put the sphere owner of Luxor to see the decision but tell him he needs to unsphere and conquer it to take it, so the sphere owner of the country that owns Luxor can take the decision without the infamy.

Actually, and I just remembered that, it's the same thing as before. Qing started with serfdom before and both give the same malus to pop promotion (-0.1). The modifier is shared (it doesn't accumulate, it doesn't turn in -0.2 if you have slavery and serfdom), so Qing had the -0.1 before.

Not without more cores. Though it's kinda historic that some pops assimilate in Manchu, especially after all the time has passed, they should revert back after the end of Manchu rule. The process should also be easier in the north rather than the south.

We could always make the primary culture of China South Han, stopping assimilation completely in the south, and in the north we either add warlords cores with north han as primary or let them assimilate. That will also make the south han in north han if Qing gets them accepted, which I guess is the biggest possibility.

Republics aren't too difficult once you get the hang of them. Just need to remember a few things.

1) Only men inherit
2) To keep the main title, you need to win the election
3) You win elections by your heir having enough prestige and a big enough campaign fund
4) Your heir needs to be an adult
5) You can't usurp king or emperor titles, only create them once they no longer exist
6) No matriilineal marriages
7) Generally, you can't move your capital
8) Cities produce tiny levies compared to feudal holdings, though your Mansion holding will produce great levies when upgraded

And regarding that second-last point, I find it quite irritating that I can't move my capital to, say, Alexandria, Ascalon or Damietta, since having my capital in Nubia prevents me from building trade posts in the Mediterranean (because I lack direct Mediterranean sea access from my capital).

Are you making the fronts like 1 tile wide? Are they starting overlapped? Because I've just never had this problem. For big fronts like Russia I will have two or three different armies assigned to different parts of the front, there is no province gap but there is also no overlap, and it pretty much stays that way as they advance every time.

News reached Bourgogne in late 1343 that Kaiser Immed was facing a major series of wars. The overconfident Kaiser had declared war on an Italian Comte in the Alps, and, predictably, most of northern Italy and even France had joined in the fight. Bourgogne would normally let such a thing go and leave the Kaiser to his stupidity, but unfortunately there was an extenuating circumstance: a major invasion of the Reich with the goal of raising up a new Kaiser, this one a Catholic. This invader had some 50,000 men in his service, and would have been a challenge for Immed even at full strength.

Although she does not wish to continue propping the Reich up from all threats, Bourgogne is also unwilling to see the work of her mother reduced to naught. Reluctantly she decides to support Immed's action in the Alps in the hope that she might free the remainder of his forces to defeat the invading Catholic claimant.

On the way to the Reich, however, she begins to feel the might of Lucifer welling up within her, giving her the strength to cast out her demons. Yet the demon fights back assiduously, and after finding herself almost being tricked into tumbling into the bed of a soldier on her galley, she decides to lock herself inside her cabin for the duration of her voyage to Italy.

Unfortunately, inside her cabin are her handmaids, all of them young and comely, and her demon makes no distinction based on sex. Denied the touch of a man and with the taboo right in front of her, it takes everything Bourgogne has, her deepest-held convictions that she should never again permit herself to dishonor the name of Renato, to avoid ravishing the young girls around her.

Her husband is particularly happy for her, and Bourgogne is pleased to have made him proud.

The step has come at great cost, however. Although Lucifer was undoubtedly pleased that she was willing to sacrifice so many men in the name of preserving His faith in the Reich--how else had she attained the might to throw out her demon's foul influence?--the realities of the situation could not be changed, and the Catholic forces had overwhelming numbers at their disposal. In spite of capturing much of the Comte's family they could not force an end to the war, and so Bourgogne's armies, under 30,000 men strong, were exposed to the fury of over 60,000 Catholics. Few indeed survived the fighting to make it back to Jerusalem.

Shortly after she returned home, Bourgogne received word that the Catholic claimant who had been fighting for the Reich was killed in single combat by some baron. Her whole trip had been for naught, save the expulsion of her demon of lust.
