If you pick a character like F-Aoko or F-Ries you just need to learn your ABC combo and know that when you are in MAX you can burst with A+B+C or regain red life if you do it in neutral. Also shield xx 236D when you expect an attack to punish it.

You don't need anything else to start the game. The rest can come slowly.

Anime games in general have plenty of mechanics.

force breaks helped him out, frcs helped him (frc points on 6h, 2h, and hammerfall hit were during the active frames, meaning they could hit and then "yrc" for a combo or safety or continued block pressure) and his normals were better. the one thing that's better for him in xrd is flick being a lot better for not flicking (it has a huge hitbox now).
