I lucked out because I managed to poison it on my second turn and then survived the next few turns thanks to def boost going off almost every time until poison literally did the job for me because I couldn't damage it anymore.

It takes killing about 75-80 heartless to summon a raid boss (I don't know the exact number).
Quest 10 has 14 heartless, 57 has 28 (or 29 if there's a prize egg too). Run 10-57-57 and then another quest that spawns the boss you want (unless you want guard armor in which case just run 57 three times).
There's an image linked in the OP pastebin that lists what quests spawn each boss, but if you're only interested which is the most ap efficient way to summon them I find this more useful:

For lux I prefer behemoths, both regular or omega. Guard armor seems to be another popular choice, but I personally get more lux per ap spent from behemoths.
