The only melee attack you can do as a wiz is with a staff or dagger. You'd take thaum to boost your dagger, pyro for enchant fire since you're going to be auto attacking it up(at least I think off hand triggers extra lines, never tried), linker to have aoe, and something that actually does damage for rank 7 and 8. Or just make it an enchanter alt.

Power staff would be better since strike damage can be doubled and you can go int and do damage.
