I'm gonna tell you right now it's more than 9GB, it's like 15 GB for the full game with two chapters playable, there was a huge shitstorm when the game was revealed for NA and digital only.

Certain models of Wii U's literally couldn't play the game without a memory extension. We didn't have the luxury of a physical release, even if limited, like EU.

You don't need to play previous Fatal Frames to get into this one, but it's worth noting that the game has an extensive amount of backtracking, which starts to feel like padding at some point.
I don't think it's a big deal like some reviewers panned the game for, but it's worth pointing out if you dislike the notion of backtracking. (also the game has old school tank controls, but I would expect you to be aware of that when looking into a survival horror game)

I have never played Tropical Freeze so I don't.
Generations is shit because it's not as big as people like to pretend it is. The modern part is boring once you play the levels once or twice, they're just like, cool to look at, yeah, but that's not what playing videogames is. After a while there wasn't really any difference between playing and watching videos and once you learn the level layout it's just pointless. Not only this, but the whole modern gameplay is just an improved Unleashed day with WAY LESS content, and Unleashed day wasn't exactly something good to start with.
Classic levels don't really have the classic gameplay they are meant to have and it also could have been better.
Only some of the missions are decent. Actually, some of them are kind of boring even the first time you play them. They're bland and they feel pointless. Also, having them be forced before getting to a boss was a shitty way to make a short game feel slightly longer.

The best thing about Generations is that it got a lot of mods. This actually makes it ok, since the lack of content is what hurts it most of all.
