This game has such shitty matchmaking, if it's not me and a bunch of randoms against a premade it's me being matched with shitters who quit as soon as they lose a round.

I had a game where someone from the opposition team quit and instantly someone on my team left, followed by 2 more people. I don't know if they rage quit thinking it was their own team mate that quit but I'm so fucking angry with this matchmaking system, it's a complete and utter joke.

Ranking and Deranking shouldn't be limited to if you win or lose, it should be tied to your overall performance.

If you play like shit and you win, then you derank, if you play well but you lose then you should gain XP.

How can you think of having such a stable fucking system when its forced 50/50?

What a complete and utter disgrace.

I climbed from 52 to 62 with close to a 50% winrate and then I saw people complaining about not climbing from even having higher than a 50% winrate.

I was gaining more for winning and losing less for losing.

Then it comes down to how often the matchmaking gods smile upon you

>how many times does the enemy team have someone not very good dragging them down

So people who get the easy climb generally over evaluated how skilled they actually are in getting there.

I'm pretty sure the problem with defense classes being so much worse than offense classes is merely a skillcap issue.

Most defense classes are braindead easy. Except for Widow, most of them have no aiming requisites whatsoever. Torb puts an autoaim turret. Junkrat I'm pretty sure was designed so bad players who wanted to play Pharah could just spam hallways and get kills, Hanzo has no uses whatsoever, Mei is so easy a monkey could play her.

Not saying offense classes are much better, but they reward aim much harder. A McCree or Soldier with good aim can make a number on anything, Genji is retardedly overpowered but it's fine because muh high skillcap, Tracer has 240 dps rapeguns that can shit on anything, etcetera.

So if Blizz wants to make Defense - Ofense more balanced they should just make Defense classes harder to play so they can have bigger rewards.

The timing for Soldier's laser beam is tighter but still possible. Plant yourself at high places on defence and just shoot niggas and shit. You have better survivability thanks to E and your sprint lets you zip from vantage point to vantage point and making it difficult for you to pin down. You also have the better ulti which actually seems to activate faster now.

In essence, use Soldier for Defence, McCree for offence.

winston's gun is silly because it's 100% guaranteed damage since there is no way to avoid it. so fighting winston comes down to a match check. if you can do 500 damage faster than he can do X damage, knowing full well his damage cannot be avoided, you win, if not you lose. so for example as a 200HP class, if you can't do >150DPS you literally can NOT kill him, he will tank it and kill you before you do

Oh, I dreamed about playing OW too. It was some kind of early alpha, that got changed a lot, but somehow blizz kept it alive, they even added ana to it.
Characters were missing a lot of skills etc.

There was a weird PvP-PvE mode (similar to maybe Wintergrasp): capture a payload (containing some terrible creature), export it to a location (if you do that, the enemy team is defeated). At the final point, the payload is opened and you have to defeat the something in it.

There was another weird mode IIRC: escape a place before the time runs out. This was more like a PvE mode with traps, dynamically changing maps etc.

At the moment it's the best goddamn gamemode in Competitive because it gives each team a fair fight every single time, and doesn't result in some stupid coin toss or ambiguous time in which you have to rush a point if both teams happen to win the first round.

You just win three damn games and that's it, you're victorious. The challenge of holding a point also results in some intense, focused battles, and most of the classes can still do their thing.

I've been up and down a lot since comp started.

Got buddies that are lower rank than me that get smashed when we group by the averaged levels then solo back up in the 65ish range.

Play less support, if you can, if you're an assault player, keep an eye out for when to switch to an offtank when you need it.

Help your backline if it's getting smashed by flanking.

And keep and eye open for when you need a reaper. Reaper is insanely necessary against some comps.
