Just finished the 3rd game for the first time about to play it again.

What is the best outcome for the north in the 3rd game?

Djikstra controlling the North is hands down the best option with a high cost of Roche and Ves.

I can't decide what the fate of Skellige is it better for the North is Cerys rules it which allows Skellige to prosper and modernize if you will or let Hjalmar rule the islands and he goes to war with Nilfgaard every Spring.

Which of those two options are legitimately advantageous for the North's survival/longitivity?

This is a bug with the GOG installer. If you run into the same issue and some notes in Blood & Wine appear in polish for you go into your patch0 folder and delete en.w3strings

Seems the file is bugged somehow and it's not needed anyway. Makes polish text appear on some notice boards.
