They managed to do 2 out of 3 just fine. The individual levels are good, but the way they connect and direct the game's progression is wack.

Some of the levels like Lothric Castle,Irithyll Dungeon, ArchDragon Peak or Grand Archives where there aren't a lot of bonfires but which have a lot of phtsical shortcuts are really good levels in my opinion. Just wish Irithyll Dungeon was like 2 times longer.

It would indeed make sense to have the source of the flame to be from there.

I loved a lot what they did with the levels themselves in 3 like the Undead Settlement. There were 5 completely optional events and shit you could find by exploring but you didn't necessarily have to. Road of Sacrifices was pretty good area too, you felt like really traveling in that segment.

Honestly the shit netcode makes most parry attempts a bad idea. Half the time I'll time it right on my screen as they're swinging and take damage before I even raise my shield and then get combo'd down. If you're fighting an R1 spammer though you can just keep mashing the parry button and your animations will match up on the second or third swing.

Does anyone else feel like the SS moveset looks incredibly awful? I think the one handed R1s legitimately look like the character has no idea what to do with a sword. Their whole body just kind of flings around, and the empty hand flails about not knowing what to do. When lothric knights swing their sword, everything looks fluid and done with purpose and strength. Is it From trying to tell players that SS r1 spam truly is for shitters?

I started the concord farm for the first time today and so far it's pretty awful, after 2 or 3 hours I've only had 1 concord drop. Is there anything I can do to speed this up? I'm have the mimic head, crystal rapier, covetous gold snake and the rusted coin (not gold) all active for an ID of 360. Is this a good amount? Should I raise/lower it at all? I'm currently considering a temporary respec into luck and grabbing some hollow weapons. is this worth it? How much luck should I go for?

And honestly I don't think it's that they're wrong, but they fail to identify the core issue. Dark Souls and Demon's Souls have always thrown trash mobs at the player, but usually there's some thought on what enemies and how many they're throwing at you at once and how the scene is set up. Hollow soldiers aten't too rough to handle more than one at a time but then you get moments of absolute stupidity like a hallway of 15 tanky Syan knights which you technically can run thrpugh but there's no strategy or fun in there, just a straight hallway filled with enemies. That's imo the the problem, not yhe amount of enemies.

"Giant crime empire" being true or not, when it comes to undeads and such think of it like this.

Seath's Archives had only one head honcho, Seath, and I assume none of his Channelers either had the ambition or willpower in the event they might have essentially been automatons, so when Seath lost his marbles/died later, there was nobody to take over even if they wanted to.

Vinheim is either a city-state or a full on country, and as such has a lot of people (humans) with ambitions to replace their superiors and further their own power. If it was a Monarchy-like school, with a "headmaster", replacing them when they died or went hollow would be trivial while a parliament type ruling council with seats vying for power would also allow for high up Mages to either get bumped off by competition or be replaced in the event of hollowing and Undead on par with basic hollows would be easy to either kill or subdue and ship off to a Northern Undead Asylum type of area.

TL;DR, ambitions and backstabbing are a great counter to an undead plauge since high ranking officials can be replaced when needed.

The main benefit to the demon;s spear was that the reach and speed combined with the flip ring made it so that you were un-bsable as long as you maintained your spacing. Nothing you did could be punished by anything except a completely lucky hail mary blind parry. It was shitter supremacy and basically the most powerful tool for passive play in the series. Kumos and greatclubs only really beat it out because they were quicker for killing shitters that couldn't into bs tech, but nothing in the game could touch a demon's spear unless the spear user fucked up.
