Dark Weapon gets 4 casts so it's probably the best buff for PvE. Playing with some INT is nice for PvE because repair sees a ton of use in this game.

DaS3 isn't anywhere near balanced enough to compare tiers in a chart like that, because generally a weapon's position in a tier in 3 is based entirely on what weapon class it belongs to. There isn't a single curved sword beneath high-tier, for example, or a single UGS above shit tier. Some are more efficient or higher damage, but the disparity in the strength of movesets is too extreme

Yeah, it's fucking horrible.
Chaos Blade, an S scaling weapon, gains roughly 40 AR going from base stats to dex softcap. It's even worse for weapons with lower scaling.
Unless you're going past SL200 you can safely keep weapons at min requirements and slap robflynn over then. For pvp the current meta is base stats + robflynn + dark infusion.

Scaling in DaS2 works differently than previous games.

Basically increasing str or dex or int or fth increases another stat on your screen called str/dex/int/fth/fire/dark BNS. Scaling takes a % of this number and adds it to your weapon as flat AR. The exact % varies on the weapon's actual scaling value, and the BNS itself hardcaps at 200 at 99 of the relevant stat.

So basically most weapons with A or S scaling are only going to give you an extra 100 AR or so at softcaps. Some weapons are worth speccing into scaling for but most are not. The fact that scaling isn't based on your weapon's base AR at all is really silly and basically means that a high-scaling Dagger gains far more benefit from scaling than an alright-scaling Greataxe.

I think no estus would be a little too harsh for phantoms considering some of the areas are so damn long.

I think that instead of just having half estus, phantom estus should be hardcapped at 3 of each kind. That gives them a bit of wiggle room to help survive through long areas and tougher bosses while still giving builds that actually slot a healing spell a definite niche.

If you give them no estus then all those signs that pop up at the beginning of long areas like Cathedral will just disappear. It encourages people to only co-op in front of boss fog instead of co-oping everywhere.

Sadknights are enemies. If you attack them, they wake up. They can drop their gear (which looks cool) and their weapon (which is very, very strong). If you kill the boss, they all wake up permanently and start patrolling the zone, which makes it very difficult to reach the 2nd boss of that area. They're much stronger than the big blokes.

Broken Sword has fuck all for durability because it's broken. Durability matters a lot in 2. Weapons with low durability WILL break and repair powder is extremely limited early on. If you choose to use a weapon with lowish dura, bring a backup at all times. Normal weapons will generally not be as fragile as the broken sword except for ones like katanas that explicitly have low durability as their weakness.

Also, the area you;re in is only 1 of two paths available to you right now. The other path leads to this game's equivalent of the undead burg, where you'll find lots of weapons to replace your broken garbage. You chose the harder of the two paths.

Most of that is shit. Infinite respecs kills replay value. Darkmoons being able to invade existed in DaS1 as well. It would be nice is the Blue Sentinels continued to function like they do, and dark moons could invade, but both gave the same covenant rewards so there would actually be a point to the multiple covenants.

Invaders not being able to heal was a stupid as fuck. The host could still heal, and could have a gank squad on top of it. Even worse is that you couldn't force them into enemies, your only advantage, because they could just wait you out.

The different spawns on NG+ were shit. They didn't really change up things enough to be fun, they just threw more enemies at you to further their "our game is so hard" meme, despite DaS2 being the easiest and most casual game in the series, especially at launch when you could just lightning bolt everything.

It was even worse in DaS2 because not only did you get infinite respecs, but you also had zero reason to ever stop leveling. hey so uh quick question. most weapons in the game need to be two handed to activate their sword arts, unless you're one-handing them and using a particular shield in your left hand, right? if a weapon art is activated using a shield this way, is the damage output calculated as though the weapon is being one handed or two handed? technically the weapon is being one-handed, but the animation is the same as if it was being two-handed.

I loved the High Wall on my first go, but I kinda dislike it now since there's only one way to go,your equipment options are limited and Vordt bossfight can get sometimes really stuttery. I think Road of Sacrifices / Cathedral / Farron Keep is some of the best DS3 since the game opens up at least a little bit.

The Cathedral is a bit of a slog, but it's better now because I know I don't have to fight the giants and know how to get the shortcuts.

It's how the net code always assumes your hitbox is where your character is not when you move.
I can't believe that Dark Souls 1 has the best tracking of this of all the games because it actually checks on both clients if the hit was possible, but it's true.
