I'll rewrite my whole controller because the "logic" I used is way too complicated and has some problems with gamepad(even though works with keypad it has a bit of problem with gamepad,even though works mostly fine)

I'm starting a 60K job next month.

It depends on your abilities. Do you already have years of experience with coding, gamedev, art, etc?
1.5 years is pretty tight to make a game, unless the game is small or you're a professional programmer with years of experience.

If I were you I'd work for a few years, save as much as you can, practice gamedev on weekends, and then give yourself 3~ years to work on a game. Maybe you will finish the game in 1.5 years, but it's better not to risk running out of money.

Hurrah! The map now properly shows rooms as hidden, explored, and cleared. For this recording I cheated and revealed the entire map. What fucks me in the head is the sounds, the higher parts of the squealing could easily have been rabbits, but some of the louder noises sounded more like a deer in size but it wasn't the normal calls, it just kept on going and going. (Lived close to a forest and lake in my home town, so used to animal sounds, and man do deer/rabbits sound fucked).

Each dungeon is procedurally generated and different each play through, and once you exit that dungeon, you're done with it and you move on. Its more akin to Binding or Spelunky than a Souls game. Some rooms are a pain to backtrack through if enemies are still alive, so players can choose to keep enemies alive to farm money, or they can clear them out to make exploring/secret room scrubbing easier.

instead just make one obj_button object with at least parameters for type name and etc and tie it into a menu system.

Does anyone have any experiance in making maps? More specifically, 6dof arenas?

I've noted that a skeletal structure with many vertical beams creates a pretty interesting movement dynamic, but its not very visually interesting. With so much player attention devoted to moving around and focusing on not dying (My game has collision damage and an extremely competent AI opponent, currently. The damage system litterally rips bits off of your custom designed ship, making it ever harder to move as the match goes on and damage mounts.) would it even be necessary to make the arena very visually interesting? Or would that be more of a useless distraction?

Worth noting that in the future players will also have to worry about power, heat/coolant, fuel, ammo, ect.

It sure could be interesting to have one of these on a arena, but from what we can see on the webm it looks too much "horizontal", it needs more freedom for vertical movement. This way you could even find an enemy per chance while running from someone or vice-versa.
A whole area just like that wouldn't be very interesting, but we don't know how big are your levels, how much of them there are, and how fast you can go. So from the slow ship on the webm crashing slowly on the wall with so much similar space to go, I would say this structure is interesting, although it's currently too big, you get me?

I need help deciding on the theme for my game. It's first-person adventure/exploration. What I've been working on is a fairly generic high fantasy setting. Worlds planned so far are:

Castle, Underground, Jungle, Desert, Computer, Underwater, Roman, and Space.

Level is designed and laid out like real space, (buildings, terrain, multi-levels), enemy AI operates in 3D space (can follow you inside a building and chase you up to the top floor).
