He charged Dhalsim with seeking out the root of all power and that Satsui no Hadou, Agni Yoga, and Psycho Power original from that source. Oro will never be as good as the story implies since he can use faux satsui, yoga fire, and psycho power.

Also Akuma is hunting Necalli according to character profiles. Chances are since Necalli turned up in Balrog's character story in the section after the cinematic story mode they're going to do a 2nd Impact style story update next year.

No, because fighting games peaked mechanically in 1999 and 2001. Ever since then it's been refinement or rearrangement, but never adding more complexity.

The inputs have largely stayed the same with frame data and input delay changing more than anything else.

SFV doesn't differ from SF3NG or vanilla SF4 too greatly beyond the 3 frame input buffer. SF3 even had a 6 frame delay on its first run of arcade units and SF4 had a 7.6 frame delay on its first run of arcade units.

SF4 didn't turn lab heavy until AE and SF3 didn't turn lab heavy until 3S.

Even KOFXIV is going back to this vanilla style first launch as opposed to the lunacy of 13, which itself was a reactionary development because of the response to 12.

I agree that long combos and execution grinds can make it a huge pain in the ass to pick up new games. It's especially bad in BB when you just pick up the next iteration, only to find that they changed all the combo routes of your character for no fucking reason.

Thing is confirming off two hits and the opponent reset s something labbing won't really do well in because in matches the psychological and physical factors along with being less prepared make a big difference. In the lab you can do it flawlessly but in the field that tends to not work out as well as one would envision, Vega's USF4 cr.lp hit confirm is pretty much so hard to do because the execution barrier on top of the standard game factors coming in make it much harder then other hit confirms that even doing a 3+ cr.lp is a cause of joy for Vega players and this is one of the more extreme cases.

I disagree about labbing requirements, training mode should be an integral part of getting good, but I'd rather the time spent be about learning all the properties of all your buttons than just muscle memorizing combos.

I fucking hate anime combos, I like spacing, mindgames and being able to just push a single button and know it's accomplishing something, marvel style ToD is just fucking unplayable to me, and Skullgirls might be even worse because because you tend to have less dps and have double the amount of hits, and have to game the system even harder to get your kills.

I really don't understand where anime combo nerds came from and I despise them for ruining fighting games.

Why are people so focused on characters being "honest"?
From what I've noticed, "honest" character usually tend to be really boring to both play and play against.

Not for newcommers besides le ebin MS boogeyman, but most people who have stuck around arent snce the beginning arent too hot about Season 3. Its not a bad season but it's jsut some questionable things in character design.

I wouldnt say its worrying, the game is still growing and the community is still very tight, but right thats kind of where the inside scene is at.

Nah, RAAM is one of the least offensive of season 3 in that regard. Its mostly things like arbiter or gargos where they do their own thing. They just feel a bit disconnected from the previous seasons.

There are Light, Medium, and Heavy breakers. You know your opponent uses a breakable medium in their combo? You press medium punch and kick to break it. Kinda like a burst. If your opponent knows you're gonna break though they can counter break you, and you get locked out from breaking. You also get locked out if you break with the wrong strength. In high level lately people tend to not break if they can help it because they don't want to risk the punish from a counter breaker.

No you just mix up the strength of the moves you use. The combo system is flexible, and its why the breaker system works.

Okay so the combo system works like this
>Opener->Auto-double/manual->linker->repeat into ender
When the opponent does a Auto-double/manual or linker they have to choose a specific strength to do it at, light, medium, heavy. If you press both lights/mediums/heavies to a corresponding light/medium/heavy auto-double/manual or linker when it hits you, you C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER.
However, if you fuck up, like say you try and break the wrong strength or you mistime the break, you get locked out, which means the opponent gets to continue his combo without threat of being broken. And worse, the opponent can throw out a counter breaker, which counters the combo breaker and locks you out for longer then normal.

How much is input lag worth in these situations? I know 15ms is almost a full frame delay, and I know polling window and all this shit. I also know that the 500 difference between te2 and tes are negligible, but when it goes between these two and the RAP4, is a visible difference.

You mix it up and the system favours the offense because if you fuck up you (the comboer) and they get reset to neutral. If THEY fuckup you can do more damaging combos without worry of it getting broken. If you misread a break and counter broke wrong you get punished (sometimes they can fail to punish you but rare), if you read them right and counterbreak them correct the KV meter gets reset, they are locked out and you can go for your hardest punish.

If you mash you will get locked out more often then not and you get wrecked hard, I've tried the mash way before.
