400dpi isn't "Objectivly worse"

The steps even at 400 dpi are so small that you generally don't notice them. Further, any loss of articulation you get from the steps of the mouse being larger is INSTANTLY cancled out by CSGO's insane weapon spread. Even crouching with an awp or SG, the weapon spread is going to be multitudes larger then the steps of your mouse.

Also, high DPI has a lot more noise that isn't needed. A warn or multicolor mousepad may affect tracking slightly on high DPI, but that's well within margin of error on 400-800 dpi and you won't experience any issues.
Also when you're just resting your hand on your mouse at 3200+ dpi your crosshair moves a little, which can be distracting when holding angles. 400-800 won't show that slight, worthless movement.

I agree stretched is a meme, but black bars is godly. It's all about focus, if you can remove 1/4th of the pixels from your screen and still see everything that's important, it will help. Some people are good with 1080p, which is fine. Hell even GTR is using 1080p now.

Used 16:10 for a while, it wasn't bad. I had 1280x1024 on no scaling on a 1920x1080 monitor. So their were little black bars on the top and bottom as well.

there are 3 scenarios I can think of.

Well, it's difficult to determine the damage. I think because there is so much anticipation behind the cheating people will go bezerk either way.

The other issue is if any cheaters are caught while the scene is still going crazy over this gambling shit. It would be even worse if something like the IBP bans / matchfixing resurfaces. All of these things combined just overload the scene with negative press, even the most hardcore fan will feel like they need some space for atleast a while just to understand how things currently are, and where the game is going.
