Is HPM still here? I'm noticing a problem with Immigration in the US, no pops are moving to the colonies at all and when I clicked on the Emancipation declaration and made Afro-American accepted, I had european immigrants assimilating into Afro-American.

Can you find out if there's any problem causing this?

Hi /gsg/, YAMDAM guy here, if anyone remembers.

I stopped working on the mod originally because the task of adding in ministers and leaders for all 196 countries was simply too much,because it was by its nature imbalanced towards NATO (like real life), and because the start date of 2003 was rather boring.


Recently though, I've had an idea - to make a start date from 2008/2012, and concentrate just on making events/decisions and proper leaders/ministers for just the middle eastern countries + european counries, ignoring the rest of the world. This would be a far more manageable task that modding in ministers for all the irrelevant shit nations of the world, and would allow me to add in stuff like the Arab spring, Ukranian/Syrian Civil war, rise of ISIS and perhaps a partial collapse of NATO to give Russia/China a fighting chance.

Would anyone be interested in playing such a modern middle-eastern scenario type mod? Trying to gauge opinion.

First time I've played CK2 all the way to time of the mongols. Temujin has spawned in the eastern most part of the map and conquered some places with an army of 100k at his back, 90k of which is "event spawned", meanwhile I control Novgorod Empire and Kingdom with Ruthenia, Lithuania, Rus, Germany, Pannomia (or w/e) and the Kingdom around Crimea as my vassals. I have like 10k levies from my own demesne and an additional 10k from my vassals, along with 8000 heavy infantry Druzhina retinues. Do I stand a chance defending against him if he comes to me? How do I defend against what I imagine is just a massive cavalry army of light infantry, heavy infantry and horse archers the best? Do I just amass as much spearmen as possible?

My goal with this is to release a christian, slavic kingdom based out of moldova that's economically developed enough to survive on it's own. There's essentially no penalty for low taxes anyways, vic 2 produces a ton of rebels anyways, so you need high taxes to pay for the army to kill those rebels

the penalty for low taxes is that i'm pretty sure money disappears if you subsidize all of the factories and have tariffs

tariffs is a bit different but it can force your pops to buy from you instead of foreign countries

There's little reason not to set everything at max unless you have a very high tax efficiency. You're basically just taking the money that the pops were going to store in the bank and using it, instead of letting it sit in the bank and do nothing. Pops that can't meet any needs at 50% effective tax probably still won't meet them at 0% tax. High taxes also help demote your artisans into more useful farmers/labourers/craftsmen. And for LF, even very high rich tax won't stop your capitalists from pouring millions of victoriabux into a single railroad job just because they don't have anything else to spend it on.
