I never had this problem. I was always ahead with high lvl agents. Sabotage is easy levels. It can be a problem when playing chaos because their agents suck at agent vs agent.

I thoroughly enjoy, even late game, an army comprised of mainly zombies (atleast 1/3 of my army is zombies) Grave guard or crypt horrors to back the zombies up, and alot of cavalry to form a undead hammer and anvil.

I find it effective against mostly anyone but Chaos with their hellcannons often killing 10-20 grave guard a shot. To me, its alot more fun than playing VC with just an army of GG and other late game units.

The percentage goes towards proportional representation between the influences. Look at the "trending towards" number. If you have 3 vamp influence, 2 local populace and 1 chaos influence, the end result will be 50% vamp corruption. Also, it's piss easy to corrupt shit as VC. I got 50% in neighboring provinces without even trying from balefires.

From my experience pacifying Norsca is practically mandatory. If you plan on fighting battles vs the horsemen spammers then warhounds are what you want.

By the time half of the zombies are dead, the enemy will be out of energy and will most likely have formed a nice big circle around my zombies.

The the sword-skellies can come it and do actual damage to all the units that now have their backs turned.

Chaos elite units and top monsters are really good, and once you've sacked a bit you can afford a lot of them. You need to be careful the earlier turns but once you've gotten two or three decent hordes it's smooth sailing. You just keep them close enough to help each other if needed, but not so close you provoke infighting. A lot of the time enemies will actually run away from you. Lightning strike is mandatory though, for when the enemy amasses several stacks.

Chaos units are probably the best/most elite in the game on a unit by unit basis. Chosen are the best infantry in the game and chaos warriors are extremely competent given how early you can get them. You have dragon ogres and giants, which are on the stronger side of monsters. Chaos Knights will only lose to demigryphs and blood knights and will munch through most other things.

Generally yes, but if you're deep in unfriendly territory with a monster that has really low health it can be better to just disband and recruit a new one than wait for its health to replenish.

Also make sure you grab the horde growth skill on your lords skill tree, absolutely necessary.

Another thing, if you aren't getting a negative treasury every turn you're doing it wrong.

Make sure to sack everywhere and plan ahead at least 5 turns based on how much money you have. It can be more beneficial to leave a settlement around for a few turns to sack it again rather than raze it.

I'd recommend making a second horde when you've got about 50-60,000 and use one for sacking places and one for completing your objectives.

One of my comfiest WoC campaigns occurred when I awoke the first tribe from the Vargs, stayed around long enough to ensure their survival, raided only Troll Countr, and made peace with Norsca before decending south into the Empire.

The two biggest factors I think were not subjugating the awoken tribe, AND sticking around to make sure they get a foothold. After that, I just pushed towards making friends with the Skaeling and Varg.

Limiting it to Westeros itself, there's not huge variation. Obviously, the Wildling armies are basically entirely light infantry, supported by Giants, Wargs and Thenns wearing moderate armor.
The Lannisters are mentioned as favoring a larger mix of heavy cav in their forces, obviously due to their wealth. They also have weird mercenaries, like Vargo Hoat's men.

Northerners seem to favor heavy axes/war hammers, given the description of Lord Bolton's troops during the Red Wedding. They also might have some skirmishers from the Neck, though I think the bog people mostly just stay home.

The Dornish are mentioned as favoring light skirmishers and using javelins, I believe, though they've produced a fair number of notable knights so my guess is that they still have a core of heavy cavalry for whenever they leave Dorne. They also seem to have a lot of light cavalry, similar to jinetes, given the fame of Dornish horses as excellent desert mounts.

The tribals in the Mountains of the Moon are pretty much wildlings without the magic shit. They don't have good metal working, and mostly carry gear that they've stolen or looted. They are very good at fighting in dense terrain though, and managed to hold their own in pitched battle so they're not complete crap.

Basically, you'd have about the amount of variance you get in the Shogun games. Same basic troops for everyone, with one or two odd special units per faction and some minor variation.

Note I'm not really disagreeing with you, I don't think ASOIAF is a good fit for TW either. You just got me thinking about how Westerosi factions are distinguished in the books.

Yeah, I had the same issue except I was wasting like ten turns marching into Syvlania and Zhufbar to rape the Vampires then marching back down to fight Grimgor.

Just mass your armies, go at one enemy first. Then confederate with the dwarves that now have no enemies threatening them. Then push north to pillage all the Vampire cities for cash, then go further north to help the Empire fight Chaos.

I can't say much, as I still use a stock keyboard - but awhile back I bought a razer deathadder mouse, and I can't say I've had any issues with it. For something that was only like 50$, it's been great. If you want a keyboard, it's probably much easier to avoid brands that'll inflate the prices (ie, razer). Just something mechanical really, if you plan to go beyond a stock keyboard.

For headphone, don't get something gamer brand. Jump over to /g/ and buy something recommended from over there (probably a good idea for keyboard too). It'll double as being good for music. If you want a mic, just buy one of the cheaper 5-10$ clip-on mics, or if you've already got one, run with that. Headphone attached mics (ie "gamer headphone mics") are usually shit. I've got a HD598 and find it works really nicely for most music I listen to, as well as functioning really well with most game audio - especially considering the price. It's probably entry-level in terms of audio, but I've found no faults with it.

That's not entirely true. I've done that plenty of times. The problem is you can't really remove yourself from involvement though.

But one of my favorite playthroughs was the Theme of Sicily mod on AoC, I'd established control of Italy up to Rome but the Lombards were proving too powerful to just attack directly. So I paid the Avvars to attack them from the east and drain their armies.

Sure enough drew the Lombards to their Eastern borders and were able to eliminate at least four of their stacks. Gave me easy pickings of their territories and then a quick peace treaty.

Well the perfect thing to do with mercenaries would be to do a Dogs of War pack. Can have a mix of regiments of renown and more generic units that you could bulk out on.

But that would probably have to be at the tail end of the series given how varied a lot of those units are.

What do you mean by gameplay? Chariots have a lot less models per unit, meaning that they're more resilient to aoe, however they're a lot more susceptible to single target damage.

In general you want to cycle charge with both, but this is especially true for chariots, since if they get caught and surrounded by armor piercing units - they're fucked. Use them against massed, low-armor infantry. Never use them against large targets.

Chariots are better in my opinion.
Cav always loses models when pulling out and thus becomes slightly less efective. Plus loses exp to replenishment.
Whereas a unit of charriots is usually 1-3 models with tonns of hp who dont give a fuck about pulling out. They just lose some hp and that's that.
Oh and charriots have more mass, so they break and penetrate formations like a hot knife through butter.

Are you mental? Their cannons are sitting ducks against forward deployment. Dwarfs have no cavalry, meaning that their entire army moves at a snails pace, so any armor-piercing artillery, even the 200 gold rock lobbers will destroy them before they even get to you.

Don't field goblin infantry - they're useless. Use 1 unit to soak up a charge, beyond that don't even bother wasting army slots on them. Arrer Boyz are also pretty weak vs Dwarfs since most of their units are either armored or carry shields. Use regular Boyz instead and substitute them for Black Orcs and Big 'Uns later on.

ok, so I noticed your faction icons are different, so you are likely running a mod, keep in mind my advises are for vanilla game mostly

First of all demolish that pagan temple, most pagan religions are absolute garbage in Attila, even latin christianity is better. The +research building is good early stages because of the research bonus, BUT you will need a stack with about 10-12 cheap levies to maintain public order and crush an occasional rebellion if you keep it, because the elder council building line gives very little public order bonuses, you will eventually want to replace it with a tavern since that gives a shitload of both money and PO. You have gems so build an amber trader and a sanitation building in your capital, you will get the nescessary two slots by demolishing the temple and unlocking 1 with pop surplus

when it comes to the villages if you want to have a high industry building or a port you need sanitation buildings in both villages, remember that pastures give the most money and goats give the most food especially when the global cooling kicks in

Thanks for the advice. I built the temple because I want to stay pagan (for roleplaying reasons) and christianity is spreadring into my province which decreases PO. I built the elder council because it gave me access to GOATansmen, but I think you are right, I might wanna replace it with a tavern.

I disagree. You should learn to use them properly. Some disruptive spells can be used to make an opening in the enemy line, allowing you to flood through them and win the game. Buffing attacks will make your flanking units rack up kills at a crazy rate, and using debuffs on the enemies will let your shitty spearmen hold against high tier units for ages.

Yes its fun but its fairly unbalanced, its as the other anon said a sandbox game.
Many factions and many units its really great but many of the prices and stats are pulled out of their asses, diplomacy and the AI is fairly broken, as the Empire atleast.
I was playing Hochland and Ostland would siege one of my cities and ask for a truce at every turn.
Economy at a certain point will utterly explode into insane growth which makes it a little easy in my opinion.
Then you have stuff like Chaos dwarfs spamming 20 stacks of gobbos.
Then again it isnt supposed to be balanced, Chaos BTFO the world in the end.
I like it because you can do whatever you want whereas TWW feels pretty linear.

It's implied that they do at least sometimes use humans to breed with, but being GW, they're fine with detailed descriptions of dismemberment but freak out at even implied rape. GW would prefer to talk about women being eaten alive than bred I guess.

Plus they're essentialy GrimDark versions of satyrs and centaurs, both of which rape the shit out of any women they can get their hands on in Greek myth. Plus they're often paired against wood elves (nymphs) which again, usually involves raep in classical depictions.

Beastmen can be born to human couples too, and their cries will either attract beastmen from the forests to come and take them, or their parents will abandon them in the forest.

In one novella about a Warrior-Priest, they see a female beastman come out of the forest to collect an abandoned child and carry it back to her herd. It implied she did look female (since their top half is essentially human I guess) because they identify her as a cow from long range, but the females didn't get involved with fighting, so they don't show up on the battlefield.
