3-4 years is a bit of a stretch, 1-2 for sure, we don't know how they plan to continue the game after fifth job though.
The game is greatly improved. Objectively speaking, grind is lessened, there's more to do, more bosses, more enemies, more maps, more great music.
There's no playercount so we don't know, GMS has like 90% bot population though so it's probably fairly low. Less than 30,000 for sure.
It's a different game. Elements of the original are there, though. It's the same game, but a lot has changed, essentially. You know you're playing maplestory, but it's not the same maplestory.
