I beat Conquest on hard and it wasn't excruciating, for a frame of reference.

I'm getting birthright and conquest in a month. I've beaten FE9, 10, FE13, FE7 and FE8 in that order. Should I play birthright first, or at all? Is there anything that is as shit as Battle Before Dawn in conquest? Is there anything as challenging yet rewarding as Blood Runs Red in conquest?

What if the visibility inverted on each phase? Your area would be obscured on the Enemy Phase and you get to see your enemies, but they won't know where you are exactly, so they'll carefully move themselves outward.

As I recall, they figured it out in Advance Wars: Days of Ruin. An example might be good. Your Recon unit has 5 tiles of sight in fog, the enemy infantry has 2 and can move 3 tiles.
You place your recon 3 tiles away from the infantry. With unfair fog, the AI sees that recon and the infantry knows to stay the fuck away from the recon because it will lose and the AI will send in a tank (6 tiles of movement, 1 sight) to blow up the recon.
In fair fog, the infantry moves 3 tiles directly into the recon because it doesn't know it's there, whether it clanks and it's halted by a ! or it stops adjacent to it because it reached it's movement limit. THEN the tank comes along and blows it up.
Yes, the end result is the same but in the first case, your recon was theoretically safe because nothing could see it, where in the second case the recon was exposed

I found her "nonoffensive" rather than good, much like most of the characters who ended up being more than their gimmick. The only Hoshido retainers I'd be bummed at losing to an Awakening kid would be Azama or Orochi (although being Mikoto's would make her immune anyway).

Although thinking about that, I fucked it up anyway. Elise has no 2nd gen retainer, so Laurent would have to replace Saizo and fuck that.

I would love to have 6+7 merged into one bigass game with modern mechanics.

Make Mark a MU, and now he's a wandering/amnesiac special snowflake Morph (kind of like Kishuna, only now we are hot and can bang people).

Since they don't have the balls to pull a FE4 and kill off 1st gen for 2nd gen, maybe it could involve going forward into the future to meet/help 2nd gen.

Oh I'm playing Revalation. I like the idea of canon classes as long as it's not Zerker or Falcon Knight. And to some extent Malig Knight since I'm making Camilla a WL at the moment but she'll go back to Malig Knight after she's close to or finished capping the stats because muh canon classes. Leo will not be a Dark Knight though but Odin will. I'm also giving him Odin's Grimoire for maximum lels. He's like a Leo-Xander hybrid.

His problem is that he's far too balanced in stats with nothing too outstanding. Where he's meant to be solid at, magic, is easily overdone by Elise, and can even be rivaled by Camilla. Even his personal weapons awful and doesn't offer much like the others

It's not that magic is shit. Every mage has one or two major problems that prevents them from being great.
Leo: Slow, not enough defense to make up for it, somewhat blind
Odin: Slow, doesn't have enough defense to make up for it, might actually be better as a physical unit due to his poor mag
Elise/Nyx: Blind glass cannons
Orochi: Really slow and made of glass, possibly the worst stat combination for any unit to have
Sakura: Decent stats all around but hard to train due to being a 5 mov healer that competes with your servant.
Hayato: Similar to above (with a bit less skill) but even harder to train
Revelations Hayato is probably the overall best mage in the game due to having good bases, decent mag, enough def and HP to take at least one hit and enough speed to double/not get doubled. Even then he's only decent at best

Sorcerer is regarded as a general shit class this game despite the S-Rank in tomes with the low speed and skill caps hampering them. You're better off with the DLC magic classes if you can get them.

In particular Hayato rocks being a Grandmaster especially in Rev with the Fuga friend seal for Swordfaire and his own base class for Tomefaire.

Any female mage with access to the Witch DLC should go witch as an endclass due to the higher speed cap over Sorcerer.

Odin is better off as a Hero/Vanguard for the ability to tank better.

Orochi just should buddy with Rinkah and get Oni Cheiftain since the tankiness of the class is great to fix her defenses since you will get nowhere with her as an Onmyoji/Witch due to her less than stellar speed growth and awful defenses.

Odin has defense as one of his better stats actually with a 55 HP/40 defense base growth. It's just that he's more optimized to go the tanky swordfighter route since his natural access to Memedon and thus Swordfaire to improve his damage output is probably his best role. Thus giving him either Hero from La'slow or going the DLC route with Vanguard is highly recommended with him for the tanky sword class that Odin needs to tank with. Both even come with Sol/Aether to take advantage of with his high skill growth to further improve his tankiness.

Owain actually makes for a really good Hero in this game despite the coinflippy as hell stats after factoring in his growths. Stupid high skill growth to trigger Sol, access to Quixotic(in Rev) to further improve the trigger chance of that happening since his speed is average at best, balky as hell on the physical end. Yeah he makes for a great Hero.

La'slow makes for the better Memedon since he has the strength growth for the class and needs the speed growth of the class desperately since he will be 50% speed growth as a mememaster which while coinflippy is excellent for La'slow, not to mention that his weapon ranks will carry over to memedon from his merc.

Hayato. 30 str/40 mag is a better spread for Grandmaster than 35 str/30 mag. And Hayato wants the skill growth since he already possesses good speed at 45% growth over Odin's 35%.

Let Odin be a Vanguard since it brings his strength over 50% to a total of 55% which is impressive for Odin who needs the strength growth. And the physical balk growth is great for Odin.
