AFAIK Val's medgun does heal a single target slightly faster but also takes a lot longer to recharge than Caira does to reload, making her total heal capacity less than Caira's.

The medic and support are the primary targets for the monster, and the medic is the easier to down of the two. That means a medic that can sustain itself is infinitely more valuable than one that can only sustain others.

Caira can heal herself with her grenades, heal herself with heal burst, and can escape a monster with speed boost.

To add to the Jetpack Fuel Recharge suggestion anon made(which is really solid), I'd say that gunning for Reload Speed or Ammo Capacity.

Example: If you're Hank Reload Speed will charge your gun, your bombs and your shield faster and Ammo Capacity can increase how much you can gun and how much you can shield. Caira benefits from Capacity too but you'll have to a bit of math to see how many perk upgrades you'll need to get an extra grenade.

I've generally found that using the sat ping to find the monsters general direction, then sending Gobi to what I think is the most likely flank. For the Medic ? Not much. "Top tier players" keep memeing about just dodging everything coming your way but realistically you're going to dodge three attacks maximum before you're left with metal scrap on your back

Once that's done, try to have a Support to shield you, once the shield is dead he should pulse it (if it's Hank, if not he already did). Then pulse your own Medic beam

POUR SOME FUCKING DAMAGE TOO WHILE YOU ARE AT IT. Val's Sniper Rifle is nothing to laugh at, it can do much more damage than your Trapper's average dried bean shooter (exception Crow, bypasses monster armor when charged)

If you get downed, literally do nothing but spam the healing pulse, since it helps you last longer. Also use your fucking pistol because the damage can add up quickly if the monster is camping you

If you die you'll dropship back in in 10 seconds (estimating he didn't Flee Till 2), with full health (minus strike) and all your abilities recharged. From here, he should have fled. If he hasn't, he's a free kill, just make sure he doesn't get another strike in

As far as I can tell no you can't, which is why I do that too, it actually works pretty well. Problem is most monsters are smart and typically go for the Support/Medic before anyone else so you have to hope they forget about you.

If you're playing against a decent monster that maximizes his abilities by damaging multiple people (aka a skilled monster or one of the OP monsters), Rogue Val is plain superior because you heal multiple people at once from a distance

Both medics have the same ability to survive when focused by the monster, aka not much unless the rest of your team is top gear. Val's rifle is better to maximize damage at medium range and especially when the monster is escaping without his armor. Rogue Val's does more damage when focused

Can anyone tell me how on earth monsters work? Specifically, Goliath.
When I play against him he somehow always manages to at least down 1 of us at level 1 yet when I play him and focus on either medic or hank it's always literally impossible to do anything.
I've tried everything from sneaking around, false trails, just running and feeding whatever I come across, charging them at spawn - literally nothing works.
I can drag them finding me out for a while but even at level 3 it's like I'm up against this insanely unified machine that manages to fly everywhere and get back to full health after every slap I give.
Are there any skills that are absolutely useless? Do you never level them past a certain point? Hell, even against npcs at level 3 I can't seem to do shit. What gives?

The game is impossible to balance for competitive without a division, but it's a hundred times more serious than something like DBD, which didn't have parties on account that it would break the game.

Trapper's main job is to find the monster, slow the monster down in fights, and track the monster once the dome goes down and they try to escape. Most Trapper's won't be able to add much in the way of actual damage to the fight. Abe's grandes are pretty good for this, and an Abe that can aim them can even bring down a kraken to the ground, at least he could in the retail verson. I prefer Griff cause that harpoon gun is sexy.

there is almost never any instance in a dome where a monster will be outside of any trapper's CC range so crow's theoretically "map-wide" range means nothing and griffin's effective range is further because it's hitscan

but i forgot you are some sick crow player getting minute long travel time slow gun snipes from the top of distillery all the way down to the beach for a fat couple seconds that you will never be able to capitalize on, wew what an AMAZING god tier character in the hands of such skill

I have lost 8 games in a row as hunters. What the fuck is going on? I don't mind losing but I don't really know why hunters are losing. It honestly just seems like the monster is man fighting us until we die.

Bucket is literally the best support right now. Does insane damage and he can shield as much as hank with his reset thats not even mentioning the bonus assault shield or heal burst.

Is there any kind of talents/skills I should take against them? I have been playing mostly Behemoth, although I tried a round as Meteor. I never got to play Kraken (or Wraith) back in the day and I don't want to hop on Wraith/Elder just because they're good right now.
