Heya guys, wanting to know if the 'Create merged patch' function in FO4Edit can be used safely or not? I have 25+ weapon mods that got integrated into level list that I'm hoping to use the function instead of just creating the merged patch manually because I'm not sure whether the merge will be good or not.

That's what I did. So far so good but testing on a new game means I wont be able to check all of the weapons since some of them wont spawn until much later in the game.

The only weird thing is that I have Modern Firearms mod installed, and I got some random ammo (outside of what the game usually has) in the game (like 7.62mm ammo) that I looted from corpse. Is this part of the modern firearms mod?

I do not have the new ammo mod (CALIBER?) installed.

That function in xedit works fine, but afaik it doesn't actually do anything - you have to go in and merge conflicts by hand. Which is fine for the most part, but it could get tedious if you have a lot of conflicts.
I used it to make a couple of merged patches a good while ago, that I am still using.
Just as an aside, if you haven't updated xedit in a while, you should do it now - there was a recent bug that caused any altered NPCs to have disfigured faces because xedit was unintentionally fooling with the face morph data.

When you say xedit, is it the same thing as FO4Edit or is this a totally different tool?

I tried creating the FO4 merged patch once thru the function and it seems to clean all the conflicts, so thats why just wondering if it works fine. No problem with the faces neither.

I did everything the Fallout NV Character Overhaul mod said to do regarding the archives and the head/body generation, but the heads still don't match the bodies. NPCs bodies and heads are the right colour, but the heads are HD while the bodies are vanilla. I've tried a few different tools to generate the archive invalidation file as well and there's been no change.

I just decided to look into fallout 4 modding a bit. Is there no more in-built modding manager? Some of the mods I'm looking at are saying shit like "Oh yeah you have to go manually add it to the game's .ini folder" and I mean I can do that but it just seems like such a hassle for each mod.
