It depends on who you ask in the Institute. X6 absolutely hates the over world, but he's a synth and thus doesn't get an opinion. Everyone else seems to be a bit more on the side of not giving a fuck as long as they don't have to go outside themselves. Plus they do recruit from the wasteland when talented people pop up.

So how do I get my custom slider preset to show up under the preset menu. To clarify, my custom sliders were saved as an additional option under the cbbe bodies and I can batch build to get my shape just fine but certain outfits have selectable options like in pic related and I don't get that by batch building.

What weapon is the best in the hands of a companion?

So far I've found spray and pray and the gauss rifle are ridiculous. SnP chews ammo, but it's cheap. I'mpretty sure companions always fully charge the gauss rifle before shooting because they almost one shot most mobs with it. They also are quite accurate adn good with 2mm ammo.

Naturally, you stumble upon the facility and suit up and teleport there.

Well that relay you used is actually a part of a museum; The cybernetically-enhanced ancestors of the splinter group, now dubbed the Manifest Colony, have been living on the Moon for years! The leader is surprised and explains the history of the Manifest Colony and also why you can't go back yet; That long-range relay ran on Helium-3, which is common the Moon, and Zetallium, a superfuel that is alien in nature. The story revolves around getting it.

I think my new vegas is fucked. It just doesn't want to work with mods. sometimes the game loads and sometimes it doesn't.and when it does load I get a broken hud and red markers everywhere. I've deleted the entire new vegas folder with all the mods in it, then reinstalled it and am slowly reactivating mods and it's still fucked up, but at least I have Project Nevada and MCM working now. I just can't figure out how to fix the rest of it

Try using Awareness to check their DAM resists; I think that the big fog crawlers have something like 4k ballistic resistance, so even a fully kitted, two-shot gauss rifle won't do much against that. And that's before even taking the endemic bullet-sponge issues of everything into account.
