Best ways to get xp?

Best way I have found is to farm a shit ton of pidgey/weedle/caterpie and evolve them. They cost 12 candies each to evolve. Also can work with rattatta but they cost 25 each.
Each evolution gets you 500xp, 1000xp with a lucky egg.

If you have a pokemon in a gym and someone else takes over that gym, what happens to your pokemon?
do you lose it or what?

Sydney walk was pretty rad. Some cool ass pokemon and some nice people. Loads of bodies were there for sure. This isnt even the lot of them, there was supposedly quite a few behind the photographer too.

Was a brilliant fountain on pokemon, and definitely going again for those sick pokegains. Went from 10 to 14 in one battery charge.

Yes, being near water you have a better chance of catching water pokemon. Being in the city means more Pidgeys, Zubats and Rattatas. It's not exact but it's decently accurate. If I go to the harbour in the city I see a lot more shelders, magicarp, tentacool, psyduck etc. If I am on the main street in the city I see 9 billion zubats. If I am in the suburbs I see more catterpies, weedles and meowths.

It's not a matter of "what CP is worth it". A lot of it is circumstantial to your surroundings. If everybody around you is around 500 CP anyways, and they're just putting whatever up, then you can technically stop grinding whenever.

Figure out what your community is pushing towards, and follow along. Don't stop until it seems to plateau, and you can choose to stop when they stop and still feel "you're keeping with the curve".

If you have some pokemon you like and it has a good moveset anyways, then power it up, evo it and so forth. Low CP can take high CP under the right circumstances. Right now a large part of the CP effect is psychological, people see 1500 CP and they go "I can't take that" so they won't even try.

It's like in Ingress where newbies see the entire zone controlled, and they immediately go "can't do this, quit game".

You can have one pokemon per gym. I don't think there's a limit to how many gyms you can have pokemon in but you will only get the defender bonus for 10. It's better to have more than 10 gyms secured because they will flip.

I don't know if there is a max limit but I have seen gyms with level 8. I think I saw a 12 but that might be my imagination.

Can anyone tell me about the Gym glitch? I went right now at 4am in Los Angeles risking life and limb to try my hand at a Gym battle, a guy had a level 200 Venonant vs my level 500 Arcanine. Thought I'd be an easy win. His health would get to red and never drop further, the timer would run out and I wouldn't be able to escape the battle. I reset everything and tried again only for the same thing to happen. I was wondering how it was possible for a gym less than a mile away have a gym leader with 900CP while this one was down in the 200's?

Yes that has been reported as a bug. Sometimes shutting it and restarting it can fix it. Otherwise best wait for Niantic to fix along with the "Ghostwalk" bug along with the "1hp" bug along with the "Infinite battle" bug along with the "nothing shows up" bug.
