as long as your hud is compatible with the new changes this should work fine

open up Team Fortress 2/bin and Team Fortress 2/tf/custom
drag your hud's .vpk on vpk.exe
a new folder named after your .vpk should have appeared

enter this folder and create a new file named info.vdf
open up this file in your editor of choice and add
"ui_version" { "ui_version" "1" }
save it

delete your old .vpk file
drag the folder named after it into vpk.exe
a new .vpk file should have appeared
delete the folder
load up the game and see if everything looks up fine

i expect any hud's which change the main menu to be borked until further notice

I have a question. Are competitive servers sv_pure 2? They should be if they aren't.

I've found that most people are surprisingly honest in pub games and aren't actively cheating with sound and texture mods. However, in a competitive environment I fully expect that everybody is going to exploit every little advantage that they can get that won't ban them. I know a bunch of ways to cheat with mods, but I don't do it because I have self respect and pride in my ability to win without cheating.

It's not OP but it is broken like the Darwin danger shield and vita saw because it adversely affects the flow of the game by allowing scout instant invulnerability.

There's nothing to stop a scout from popping a bonk, running behind the enemy team taking 0 damage and flanking with no punishment. If the enemy team focuses on the scout then the other team will cap, if the enemy team focuses on the other team the scout can easily run up and destroy the enemy team or enemy medic. If the team splits up then you have to prioritize which tream your medic will follow. There is no downside to using bonk besides not having a secondary

Personally, I don't think that the DDS is that bad. If you're at any distance that matters, headshot the fucker, duck, pull out your smg and shoot him once. Or you could just have a scout or a heavy plink him for 8 damage.

And in that case, if the scout gets focused, his team is a player down when the other team kills him and moves in. Plus, not having a pistol or the winger is huge.

Still, it is very broken imo. It really needs a downside besides not having a pistol. Granted it might not hve the raw all round versatility of the pistol, but like the razorback and dds, with the loss of firepower you gain something that is incredibly game breaking.

If i had to put a downside on it I'd say that maybe have it so that once you absorb a certain amount of damage the effect wears off so there is a way to counter it and scouts just can't rush in without any repercussions, they'd have to plan out what they intend to do beforehand
