What? No. DRG brings battle litany and pierce debuff, which are mandatory. NIN brings Goad, Trick Attack, and a slash debuff which nobody needs because WAR is also mandatory and it's part of their rotation. Monk brings enough personal dps to make up for trick attack over the long run and int down if you don't have a DRK.

Trick Attack is much more mandatory than Litany/Disembowel, the utility of Goad/Shadewalker/Smokescreen is extremely useful, and almost every fight from the past two raid tiers has had sections where the Warrior is off the field or on a different target and the extra Slashing debuff comes into play.

It's a tossup between Dragoon and Monk because the only thing that Dragoon brings is damage, and Monk's utility (DK, Mantra) may or may not be marginalized to the point where the extra damage Dragoon brings is better.

I do not use it at 60 on DRG because it doesn't fit into my rotation. Maybe it could but I don't main DRG and don't care to optimize beyond learning the common 1-2-3-4 and opener. I think if I did use fracture heavy thrust would fall off, but not sure.

It's good for paladin, I think it has situational or at least a little value for other jobs, but not mandatory

Fracture is a fairly meh crossclass skill.
I'm not sure about DRG pre-60, but at 60 DRG has no space for it in its normal rotation.
It's ok for MNK as filler to prevent clipping Demolish too much.
It's ok for WAR as long as it ticks its full duration.
It's arse for PLD and shouldn't be used in your normal rotation, only when you need to drop off the boss and tank something else and you can literally only fit one GCD and can't reapply Boring Blade.

WHM is in an overall good spot right now and is interchangeable with AST.

WHM is godly in PvP.

AST is a pretty good place right now, and is interchangeable with WHM. It does, however, need a few more buffs to make it perfect. It can also replace SCH for some content but does a shitty job of it.

AST is pretty great in PvP.

No, it's a 10% increase in raid DPS every minute, or basically whenever you'd actually want it.

Extra DPS is more useful at some points than others; being able to add 200 DPS across an entire ten minute fight is much, much less useful than being able to pick six 10-second windows where you add 2000 DPS, even though both of them are adding the same amount of overall damage to the party.

And dividing the 10% damage increase by the 1/6th uptime is completely wrong to begin with. Competent usage of Trick Attack will both line up with many of the party's burst DPS windows (meaning that it's a 10% increase to 130-140% of the party's average DPS), and will be placed so that TA is on cooldown during sections of the fight that involve forced downtime, increasing the effective uptime past the on-paper, theorycrafted 1/6th.

Unless there's another tier like Gordias where DPS is emphasized so hard that DRG/NIN is vastly superior to any other melee composition, Dragoon is the luxury melee that you take once you overgear a fight to the point where you don't need any extra utility and you don't need actual focused DPS at any specific point.

It's not how ffxiv numbers work, when it says 10% it really is just a straight up 10% buff, even if it says it reduces resistances by 10% which should be more.

On top of that, the piercing debuff doesn't affect dots, which means it's less than 10% after all things are considered, especially on Bard.

No. Debuffs like Disembowel have been shown to multiply damage by 1.1x flat, not to divide by x/0.9. That damage also doesn't apply to DoTs, won't apply to split targets where the ranged is on a different target than the Dragoon, and won't apply during the couple of GCDs before Disembowel goes up. It isn't as high as 10% for either BRD or MCH, but it is a bigger boost for MCH than for BRD (and I believe 7% is still the estimate for BRD).

I'm not sure exactly how you arrived at "50 parses for 3.2 that did not have a Dragoon", but if you went to Rankings, filtered to Machinists with "For 3.2 Patch", and searched for 0 Dragoons, you should be aware that that's also just flat out removing anyone who did more DPS at any point in 3.3 than they did in 3.2, regardless of whether or not they had cleared in 3.2. And that filtering by "0 Dragoons" in the first place removes anyone who did more DPS with a Dragoon than without a Dragoon, even if they've cleared the fight without a Dragoon (and even if that clear was in 3.2).
