Well, if you want a bow or a crossbow that's at least two slots gone right off the bat.

That leaves you two slots for melee, and one of them is practically guaranteed to be a shield, so that leaves you with a single choice of melee weapon. Even if you take a bastard weapons, it's a compromise from a real dedicated two handed axe or sword or polearm, and these are some of the highest single shot damage weapons you can get.

If you want a dedicated two handed weapon / polearm, throwing weapons give you some range and allow you that extra slot.

you can always gain renown or levels
try gaining relation with a lord to make him follow you and help take a castle, or keep upgrading your troops till all of them are top tier, if you have a full party of top tier troops you'll steamroll a castle garrison

go north and fight sea raiders. their equipment will sell for a decent amount and you'll get expereince. Do you have companions? a companion with high trade skills will help you turn a better profit, and ones with surgery skill will prevent you from loosing troops.

also don't upgrade troops just because its available if you're not at war, stick to around tier 3, then upgrade them when your about to fight a vassal or other such large group. This will reduce your weekly costs.

Buy shit from villages that cheap so you can sell it for a profit in town. Grain is especially easy to buy cheap from most villages, particularly around Dhirim. You can start a business in Suno or Uxhal to produce ail and stock up the storage with grain you bought for cheap to increase profits.

most likely what happened is that since floris evolved doesn't load the hand models from body_meshes.brf, you need to change skins.txt to use the hand models that floris evolved uses

if you happen to have a backup version of floris evolved's skins.txt, you should be able to see what hand mesh they use and adjust the new skins.txt to use their hand models

Can't. Feast tournament abuse for renown is too much to pass. I'm on 300ish day and already over 1400 renown. Kinda sucks that I have more renown than kings but I can ride with little over 120 men compared to their 300. If I max leadership I'll be able to get only like 150-170.

I've been playing Viking Conquest with throwing weapons since it seemed accurate to play it that way and that other ranged weapons have been gimped. Their use is that they can do a lot of damage at close range while still allowing the shield to protect the thrower - notice that a unit holding a shield will have it held in front of them as they draw back to throw.

In a siege though you'll always find having a bow or a crossbow is more useful since you can more easily restock, but throwing weapons still have their use in being an equaliser for you and your party.

Are there any mods that have Kaiser-blades? Some folks call it a Sling Blade, I call it a Kaiser Blade. It's kindly a wood handle, kind of like an axe handle. I'm new to this game. Made a female character for extra challenge. What am I supposed to do at the start? Just ride around and win tournaments until I can join a faction? Start a trade caravan? Hunt bandits?

hunt looters at first. Sea raiders in the north are the best kind of bandit to kill because they have the best gear to sell, but you will want a small foce with you if you dont know how to handle them.

A simple tactic is to get some rhodocks, like 20 of them, and make them all crossbowmen.

Tell them to hold position on a hill and ride out to the sea raiders, ride past them and circle them at high speed while they throw javalins at you to use up all their javalins, then lead them near your crossbowmen and ride away so they face you and show the xbowmen their backs. They should kill them pretty quick.

This is probably the easiest way for a newbie to do things. If you know what you are doing doing the killing yourself with horse archery is fast levels for you, but it can be tricky.

gaining levels, money, and renown. Look up stable companion partys and try to recruit companions from taverns. Try to build profitable enterprises in towns. Quests are really only worth it to improve town/lord relations to get those enterprises built.

Once you have companions, are leveled up, have a cash flow, then you can raise a large army and by then you should have enough renown to easily get a mercinary contract.

It is of course possible to start off right in the beginning by just getting some renown and then becoming a mercinary, probably how the games intended to be played, but its frustrating when you only have the resources to maintain a small force and are dependant on npc lord decisions. The main reason to become a merc is you have a faction to fight for, and any friendly lord you join in battle you gain reputation with, any (offensive) sieges you participate in, talk to every other lord that took part right after the siege ends and get a reputation boost with them.

Getting reputation boosts is important, getting lots of lords who like you is important down to the line if you want to start your own kingdom or support a someone elses claim.

Anyone here play Gloria Victis?

I kickstarted it a long time ago and only just tried it again recently and actually having a lot of fun. In it's current state it's kinda like a pseudo-MMO Mount&Blade multiplayer sort of like what the "Persistent World" mod multiplayer servers are/were like. Loot drop in PvP, crafting, faction warfare etc.

It's clunky and a shit alpha stage game but the big PvP fights are pretty entertaining and it's really satisfying when you win.

Some reason they wont wear one of the helmets I gave them. It is a black version of the one I am wearing in PIC RELATED but with the smaller horns. I'm not sure why.
