Things made easier since beta went live on Update 100:
- You can rush Rats Day 2 by just bringing the 3 Shaped Charges you get by default and praying that the intel is not in a big safe. Skip the trade entirely.
- Or you can just bring no meth and "stealth" it with a sniper rifle or suppressed shotgun and then C4 your way out
- ECMs have Feedback by default now so even if there's no SWAT turret on Watchdogs Day 1, anybody can bring an ECM and just feedback the entire intersection for the car escape
- You can bring Shaped Charges for Firestarter Day 1, or a saw. Doesn't even matter what your build is anymore.
- You can bring a saw or 3 Shaped Charges for Firestarter Day 2 (saw is probably objectively better)
- You can bring a saw and Shaped Charges for Transports and H&Ts (more for FS Day 3's extra security door, really)
- You can bumrush UK Jobs without needing to spec into Shaped Charges
- You can max out ECMs, stealth, and Trip Mines and still have points leftover so stelf missions should be 100% easy now
- You don't need a saw build to farm Mallcrasher ATMs anymore
- You don't need a saw build to just skip the hacking for Art Gallery / Framing Frame Day 1
- You don't need C4 or ECM builds to skip objective doors in HB Day 2
- You don't need a saw build to bring a saw to Big Bank
- You don't need a Fugitive build to get double body bag cases for those civ-heavy heists. Maybe not even Cleaner and body bag assets.

I listed the three because they're the top p2w perk decks in the game.

Grinder has insane health regen for suitfags despite the nerfs. Been nerfed multiple times since its inception because the devs accidentally made it OP and still don't know how to balance it.

Infiltrator seems to be touted as an awesome melee perk deck (I can't vouch for it, never played melee builds).

Anarchist right now is the FOTM perk deck for DW because it's basically Grinder for armour, and Frenzy Aced + ICTV + Anarchist makes you unkillable because of the damage reduction from Frenzy being applied to armour instead of just health (which is technically a bug but devs didn't fix it in update 104 so who knows). Also Sydney waifufags.

What rifles?

Sniper rifles? OVK trashcanned most of them during the Unbalance. Used to be that if you scoped while still, the sniper rifle would have perfect center of screen accuracy. Now every sniper rifle has obscene spread especially when scoped. Actually don't know which sniper rifles are supposed to be good anymore.

Assault rifles? Same story with the rework of the Accuracy and Stability stat system. They're still pretty decent. CAR-4 is still king of the 40 damage ARs, AK7.62 for lolnoammo high damage ARs, and M308 for single fire DMR kit fags.

A lot of the meta weapons are in the base game and community group weapons like the CAR-4, AKs, Judge, Macaroni, etc. What really makes them strong are the DLC packs with mods like the shotgun pack and the courier mod pack. I'm starting to warm up to the biker chain.

It's slow as balls without any melee speed boosts but being able to one shot non-Specials uncharged on DW with a Funzerker build is really entertaining. Also helps with ammo sustain when I just don't feel like using a shell on a single target.

So question about berserker. I see the damage applies to (almost) all weapons, but which ones does it benefit the most? I mean while it sounds hilarious to deal a gorrilion points of damage with a sniper rifle or shotgun is it more practical for those bigger angrier bullets to be coming out of an assault rifle or minigun?

Best on 80 damage rifles IMO. If you put it on a 40 damage weapon it only brings it up to 56, which isn't really a relevant breakpoint for anything. But the battle rifles that can hit 85 damage with mods get raised to 119, which is enough to one shot greys.

To get the Hard mask, you have to do every single existing heist at Hard from beginning to end (e.g. no drop-ins).

To get the Very Hard mask, you have to do every single existing heist at Very Hard from beginning to end.

Repeat for OVK and DW masks.

And no, getting a DW mask will not automatically get you credit for the other three masks.
No, finishing a heist on DW won't get you credit for doing the heist on the lower difficulties.
No, it won't work for the lower masks either (e.g. doing it on OVK won't count for VH and H).

Yes, it sucks.

And yes, if a new heist comes out before you finish a mask, you have to finish that new heist for that difficulty too.

You don't need the DLC to play the respective DLC heist, only to host and get access to the cosmetics and weapons the DLC pack comes with. So you can be a f2p shitter joining other people's GGC and Biker Heist lobbies anytime you want.

And to elaborate on the beginning to end aspect, you have to be in the game *BEFORE* everybody in the lobby hits the READY [x] button at the loadout screen for Day 1. So you can join an in-game lobby and if it hasn't started yet, then you can get credit for it if you finish. Otherwise, even if you joined at 00:01, you will not get credit for completion. Also disconnecting from a heist and rejoining the exact same lobby will not get you credit (same for most "do X in a heist" achievements) if you're not host. Crashes, kicks, etc. If you're hosting a lobby for a 4-man achievement and a guy dc's and reconnects with the correct equipment, you the host can definitely still get the achievement (and I think anybody else who didn't dc in the lobby) whiel the disconnector is shit out of luck.

And sometimes (aka. every time) when a new heist comes out, the completion check is broken and sometimes you might not get the difficulty masks if you try to get them around the time a new heist is released so be wary of trying in the days after a new heist release.

I'm kinda with you, Like I can usually go stealth for a long time on a mission but eventually still fuck up. On a lot of missions this works, you can start drilling shit or open some doors or get a few bags out this way before bullets start happening. But it's infuriating on missions you have to stealth no matter what or when you play with folks who would rather reset a mission 15 times than continue a failed stealth run

That's my biggest complaint about Payday 2 as a whole, actually and it's impossible to fix is that when stealth is broken NO ONE wants to continue the mission.... Because we're all stuck with our pitiful stealth builds and CAR4s and 1911s.

In a game like MGS or Splinter cell getting caught meant switching to combat mode which was tougher but viable, in Payday it's set up that going loud on DW after stealthily is nigh impossible unless it's very specific scenarios (vault is already open etc)

This is usually the reason why you see pubshitters with Silent Killer BV dodge builds because they think they are capable of shooting it out but are completely bad at either stealth or loud.

The other problem is that when the alarm goes, you don't continue the heist. All the objectives and shit start over basically at the beginning so it makes you feel like there's no point in going loud after fucking up stealth if you're just going to start over from the beginning anyway. And it doesn't help that a lot of the earlier stealth heists slap you in the face with this realisation. You could be halfway or 2/3rds done through the objectives but then it's all for nothing and you have to start over with hacking the security and then firing up a thermal drill. Shit really sucks. The bars coming down on Framing Frame Day 1, you being stuck with a 400s power box defense on Framing Frame Day 3, even if you were half a second away from leaving with all the gold, having to go fetch the pig in Big Bank, having to steal the camera footage in ED Day 2, etc.

The security measures and shit make sense from a logical point of view but damn it sucks to put up with it so might as well restart or just go in loud from the beginning with a real loud build.

On top of RNG spawns, PD2 difficulty is also dependent on the host's CPU and connection that affects (a) how quickly it can empty out the spawn pool, and (b) cop reaction times.

If they're on a toaster and/or lagging, cops will be stationary, spend ages to path to your general location, and take 1-3 seconds to respond to your presence so you can just walk around in a DW heist with minimal aggro all day and maybe have to deal with 50-100 cops at most per 5-10 minute assault wave. If the host has a good computer, hahaha, welcome to Death Wish.

The amount of PD2 players I've met with 100+ hours in and still don't know how to progress the actual heist are legion. That's because all it takes is one guy who knows what he's doing chasing the actual objectives while the other three can just run around and kill cops for the entire heist. And most new players do exactly that and so they don't even know how to set up a thermal drill.

Seems like the hair and eyes ignore the material and just paints the first colour on, and then the rest of the pattern goes on the face. The glowy beads seem to retain the pink glow but try to glow through the second colour.

No it's not better than suit Anarch. It suffers from a worse Grinder problem than Grinder itself (i.e. going down once makes you vulnerable to going down again and again). You can't regen without getting shot enough to break your armor, but can't get shot again for your last little bit of health. And IIRC you lose your regen pool if you go down so that has to be built back up. On top of all that you lose all overhealing.

Trying to get sort of a balance between assault and DMR, I wanted enough accuracy for hitting snipers but enough stability in case I needed full auto. I have the Wooden stock and competetors comp and whatever the special grip is, I've been working to get the Wooden Foregrip but I've had to wait for my friends to get on so I have people I can trust to do the 12 Angry Minutes achievement (for now only foregrip I ha e is the Precision I think). Might have something else on there but I know I left off the auto/semi mod so I could switch between them, and kept off the extended mag to maintain acuracy

Try getting someone in the steam group to carry you through it, but if it becomes too frustrating just SAM it. SAM is generally cancer reserved for lazy shitters, but an exception can be made for achievement locked gun mods, which is cancerx1000.

There's also a minor trick where even if the cops know exactly where you are and slowly path to you, if you don't actually alert them (e.g. go into LOS, shoot loudly), they won't shoot at you or aggressively run into you so they just stand around and get to you slowly. In that case, you can just quietly murder them and basically kite them around the map by running around to mess up their pathing - which is less effective on small maps like Rats Day 1.

Conceptually this sounds neat and sounds like it'd work but in reality this means that a DW pub might be unironically runnning Silent Killer dodge builds because they're "stealthing in loud" and basically camp in a corner all game and stealing all your ammo pickups because his akimbo deagles/ARs/sniper rifles are unsustainable.

If he wasn't, then I guess he's just running a toaster or got lucky.
