I finally understood Mei.

Her close quarters freeze is satisfying for the player, it's ''fun''. The enemy may get frustrated from getting frozen, but that's a psychological mistake, as (s)he should always reflect on how (s)he allowed the Mei player to get close enough for the freeze.
It's typical shitter behavior to get mad at their own faults.

Also Mei freezing a player is the first step for the potential kill. Mei teammates can assist her, or Mei enemies can save
their teammate from death. Most of the times you don't see enough teamplay in pubs so it frequently ends with Mei finishing
its enemy with icicle headshot.

Her mid/long range dps isn't that great, yet mentally rewarding. Her icicle deals 75 dmg max, allowing for 1HKOs agaisnt Tracer/
Zenyatta, which again is really satisfying.

Both icewall and iceblock have a lot of potential for teamplay. Her iceblock can actually block ultimates suck as D.Va self-destruct,
allowing teammates to take cover behind her.

She's not unbalanced, nor annoying. She's the ultimate shitter detector.

Once you learn how to use her rmb shes a solid long range dmg dealer. Shes also one of the best picks during koth maps due to her abilities. Shes the most fun character to play imo.

I don't get all of the Zarya whining I've seen here. As somebody who's played a ton of her (I'm not a Zarya main, but I'm my team's main Zarya, if that makes sense) and who often plays against her, she goes down pretty quickly when she's actually on the point, where she should be. The only time she's really all that hard to kill is when she's hanging back and not playing the objective, and in those cases you don't really need to worry about her. She's also a relatively high skillcap character, and chances are you won't run into many people who are truly good with her.

I agree that she's one of the better characters for KotH maps, though she's also amazing on Payload ones, on both sides as the Ice Wall can provide your team with cover to push the payload.

Because they work well together in gameplay, Pharah flying just gives Mercy tons of mobility. If a Winston is chasing you you can fly up to safety, if an ally needs healing but is far and behind a wall you can fly to Pharah to get line of sight then fly to him, etc. She can also just stay in the air with Pharah to heal/damage boost her.

Is there a reason why Mei's wall is 5 individual pillars instead of a single block?
Also is Mei simply a better McCree at the moment? Icicle isn't hitscan, but projectiles have a generous hitbox to compensate.

It's cooldown is super long so you have to utilize it properly. Remember that your m1 can go through it and you can place it in clutch situations

Thirty years ago the Omnic Crisis happened, Overwatch is made to counter it.
Some time after Morrison is named to oversee all Overwatch Operations, Reyes has a hissy fit.

Reyes is appointed the head of Blackwatch, the blackops arm of overwatch. He starts recruiting the shitty people he's supposed to be capturing.

Blackwatch keeps doing bad shit and people take notice. Overwatch takes the blame. Five years before the game, Overwatch is Disbanded.

Talon agents start using Blackwatch tactics in their attacks, and begins to specifically target former Overwatchagents, causing Winston to recall everyone, reforming Overwatch to take on Talon.

Alright m8s, what're some offense and defense heroes that have reasonably high skill ceilings?

I'm okay at McCree but not fantastic, still working on my aim. I've only played Genji a couple times but he seems fun. Any other offense heroes that require some skill?

Defense is probably my least played category. Junkrat seems alright but overall simple (Minus learning how the shots will land), and he's my most played defense hero. I've tried sniping a couple times and it's not really my thing. Mei seems like she's actually got a pretty high skill ceiling.

What surprises me is that Bastion seems to have a deceptively high skill ceiling, too. I've only ran into one really good Bastion, but he kicked serious ass.

Zarya needs a nerf. Should be allowed to melee through her bubble. Would allow basic melee from everyone, reinhardt and genji ult to counter her. Maybe her own particle beam cut through it so she counters herself as well. Should only stop projectiles and explosives.
