I play a lot more solo than with friends.

It can be frustrating because if you're playing with decent friends you can coordinate ults, warn about shit, tell them what you're doing, etc.. generally results in more wins.

With public you're at the mercy of usually 2 or 3 players who play just for eliminations and POTGs.

Hanamura B is usually pretty fucking fun to defend, lots of alternate routes, lots of different ways to attack and defend means its almost always a bit different. Point A is okay if you get an enemy team that aren't a bunch of cowards who are terrified of pushing. Honourable mention to Gibraltar because of the way the map causes changes in gameplay as it moves along.

Volskaya B is the opposite to that and its boring as fuck, A is alright.

For attack my favourite is Gibraltar for the aforementioned reasons.

Least favourite is Volskaya, for pretty much the reasons above as well. It's probably the worst map due to how railroady B is.

McCree is the epitome of lazy character design. He's simply the result of someone saying "cyborg cowboy" without putting any real thought into it. His robotic hand adds nothing. It isn't the hand he aims with and although he melees with it, it's no different than any other character's melee.

Defense in this game is so fucking shit. At best you win after 5 minutes. At worst you're guarenteed to have to fight for 10 full minutes. Meanwhile attackers can win in only a couple if they're good. Plus with overtime mechanics and shit like ult coordinating it makes it even harder to hold points. Payload is the only game type where defense isn't total shit to be in but fuck me if I ever actually get to play it.

What's worse is because of the aggressive ass matchmaking even if you play defense you aren't guarenteed to be able to play offense next because it kicks you back to the lobby and you end up in a completely random game. At least competitive fixes this to some degree but holy shit fuck defense on capture maps.

Who the fuck knows. Overwatch was fine for me at launch but then a couple weeks ago I'd constantly get major ping spikes that would make it unplayable while my internet was fine everywhere else. Then after a week of that it went away and was back to normal like it never happened.

I'm getting real tired of shitty Widows and Symmetras. Widows are explain themselves but I will never understand people who go Symmetra when as the ONLY support. If your team needs a support then go Lucio, Mercy or Zen. If they already have one of those THEN you can go Symmetra.

At beginner level it's a meat grinder to get in the first point, at average its a meat grinder to get the 2nd point and usually ends with the defence having worked like crazy to hold the attack off for a long time but then they attack win because they finally got lucky, and at high level they're just steamrolls for the attackers.

Hopefully Blizz realises that the 2CP maps are by far the least enjoyable at all levels of play and so doesn't make any more of them.

This is something that happens in FPS's pretty often. There's tons of cases in TF2 server-side footage that a sniper shot completely misses someone's head and it registers as a headshot and vice-versa.

IIRC weren't Hanamura and Anubis both there when they announced the game? If that's the case then it makes sense that they're the worst maps+gamemodes since the game was less developed at that point. As the "meta" emerged and the designers got a better hold of how things played out in testing they probably realised all the same problems and started making the other maps. Why am I constantly thrown into matches where people are level 10 to 30ish and insta-pick Genji/Hanzo? I know levels don't mean anything in the big picture, but one or two days ago I was getting matches wherein both teams were full of 70+ people and the team compositions made sense for the most part. Why is this shit happening? My win rate has only been going up lately. I would say something about a forced fifty if not for the fact my opposing teams have been equally shitty of late, so the games are a coin toss.

You realize pro players are only interested in abusing overtuned/OP heroes right? That's why they abused the fuck out of McCree/Widowfor a long time. They all want the edge they brought because of how overpowered they were. Just because 90% of a games pro scene are meta dickriders doesn't mean she isn't good anymore.

Widow has not disappeared entirely also. She has gotten less popular because she isn't easy mode anymore. Competitive players want heroes that can do consistent damage. Since you can no longer bodyshot people to kill them players who were never good with her became less effective, while players who were good with her remained relatively the same. That's why heroes like Soldier 76 and Winston are extremely popular in pro matches, they are consistent damage just by tracking people.

Widow is 100% fine where she is. People who can hit headshots still do well with her and she no longer rewards bad players.

The match making in the game is terrible. That is the bottom line. Whatever method they are using is either working poorly or designed badly.

Ranked comes out in a few days which will alleviate the problem so there is that to look forward to. Torb is one of those characters that is completely useless or game breakingly annoying. If he gets set up on defense with a strong team he's constantly shitting out armor packs which make a huge difference in team fights and if you ever actually manage to get near the turret he ults and you're literally fucked

McCree's stun isn't really reliable against Mei anymore, you can't FTH kill her and it's a crapshoot whether she'll be able to ice block before you can pop enough headshots into her.

However, what does work really well, at least if you can aim, is just to kite her from enough distance to not get frozen and pump her head full of left clicks. I stopped being frustrated by Mei as soon as I figured out how well that works.

Depends on what the enemy have. If they have lots of close range guys then stay away, you can still chuck your conc mine a long distance or use it for traps/jumping around. If they have lots of long range then get all up in their grill.

Always use the level geometry to your advantage, Junkrat is basically the only guy who can shoot around corners, over ledges and all sorts of shit like that, use it to your advantage.

I just want to say that it's probably because that "everyone is shit but me" mentality that I see around so much, affects your ability to improve since in your mind you already think you're decent enough.

Winston is a known top tier character. He's an insane 1v1er (only really losing to reaper and Dva really at higher skill levels) once you know how to shield dance properly. He has amazing mobility and EVERYBODY underestimates his tesla gun (unless they have armor and then lawl you're fucked). The only downside to him is that his ultimate is pretty damn underwhelming and would objectively be better if he got to use his default tesla gun during it.
