So I played all the first few chapters in Soul Sacrifice Delta and up to around 6 chapters into the story for the riding hood bitch and I'm really not liking it.

The aesthetic is nice and the idea behind the lore is okay, but the missions are too short for my taste in hunting games and the combat still doesn't click for me. And some of the lore is just too tryhard.

I fucking enjoyed Freedom Wars more, and I eventually dropped that game, too.

So Caligula about 6 hrs in.

The good:
Combat system is really interesting. Well executed, and I really like how it interfaces with the overworld.
Music. I really enjoy the whole BGM - > Vocals switch into combat.

The ok:
Story. I was hoping it would be a bit better. The premise is really interesting, but so far the execution is kind of boring.

The bad:
Open World/Out of Combat. Talking to NPCs is just about spamming O. Its really drab and tedious.
Balance. Its a bit out of whack. even-level fights are fun, but if the enemy is 1 level above you, it becomes impossible to kill,and if the enemy is a few levels below you, you just oneshot it.
Load times. Thats all.

The shit:
fucking crashes. I've played 6 hours (in game timer), and crashed at least 15 times in that period, so I've probably played about 9-12 hours in total. Doesn't help that save points are few and far between, so needing to go through the same shit over and over gets boring.

Puni outbreak is basically just a bunch of punis that you can fight over and over. Until rumor is over.

They are mostly good for getting materials. In particular, the rainbow puni has a rare drop that lets you craft certain items and that may be the only way to find them at that point. It actually was the only way for me at some point, during my playthrough.

I think Uchi ran out of ideas. He keeps rehashing the same ideas/plot twists from his previous VNs. I also don't like how the timeline is even more fragmented. It feels like a mobile game. You see them talking for 5-10mins, then you do a puzzle, get to decide 1 thing after you're done with the puzzle and that's it, they forget everything and you start the whole process over again in another timeline. At least in 999 and VLR you chose a route and stayed on it for the most part and then moved onto another. I still haven't finished it, so I hope it picks up at least at the end.

If you haven't watched at least 1 trailer or know nothing about the game then don't read this. I'm just gonna try and explain how the game fragments work. So there aren't really any spoilers.

Every 90 minutes the characters are put to sleep and get injected some serum that makes them lose their memories of those past 90 minutes. So for example: Eric always gets pissed of by Q (the kid), but they make up in one of the timeline fragments. Sadly that doesn't mean shit because they'll forget all of it happened after those 90 minutes pass.

There are times when you do continue playing in the same timeline, but you mostly don't know. When you pick a fragment that you want to play, it doesn't show where it is in the timeline. After you're done playing only then you can check where did these events take place in the timeline. The story is a fucking mess because of this imo. You pick a fragment to start playing and then you learn that some character died and you have no fucking idea how or what happened because you've picked a fragment that's already halfway in that in that specific timeline.

I hope this makes sense. I'm not that good at English.
