I did a thing. A personal challenge where I go through and do the game on Neutral Pacifism mode, no healing, no saving, no deaths. Took me about 20 attempts up to this point, but I finally survived and killed Asgore with 1 HP remaining. Minimal commentary, mostly for my bro who was watching at the beginning then left sometime around the end of Waterfall. I've looked online for similar challenges such as this and didn't find any, so I'd like to think that I did something kinda difficult in a game that's actually normally not that hard.

Expanding that playthrough to True Pacifism would be too easy since the save after Asgore would return me to full health and then the only boss I can technically DIE at would be the amalgamates in the true lab, and that's not too bad at all to do.

Genocide however, that's definitely something to consider, since I don't think when you level up with damage taken you restore that health. I might do a genocide one later.

Anyway, not sure if anyone wants to watch, but I felt REALLY proud of this.

Napstablook was a fan favorite from the demo days, having the best song in the track.
Asgore's appearance was hyped up throughout the whole game, and his twist is that everything people say about him, good and bad, is true.
Chara has an entire route dedicated to being an edgelord. Teenagers love that. He also might not be a total shitbag, because the game's story has depth.

As an Asgorefag it was the peak of the game imo, OF was cool and all but aside from when Finale starts to kick in it just didn't hype me up as much (being pretty much immortal for it was also kind of a bummer). Asriel was also neat but idk it didn't hit me the same way since going through New Home again hadn't been as emotional as the first time

A lot of Chara is left to interpretation.
In one extreme Chara is the only truly evil character and a lot of people enjoy that. compare with Dio from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Every "villain" in the game has an understandable motivation. Asgore wants to do whats best for his people, Flowey has spent who knows how much time repeating the same events over and over, and Mettaton wants to move on to bigger and better things. Chara on the other hand after learning a human monster fusion was extraordinarily powerful, manipulated the Dreemurr family and wanted to use Asriel as a weapon or to ignite another war, ultimately just using monsterkind as a means to an end to screw over humanity.

In the other extreme Chara loved monsters and killed themselves so Asriel would have the power to free them all.

I think the reason we have so many Chara morality debates on here is because people like Evil Chara, Good Chara, and everywhere in between one person's interpretation of Chara may be completely different from the Chara they like, but neither side is truly correct because we don't know the motivations behind Chara's few canon actions and there is as much evidence one way as there is the other.

tl;dr: Chara can be anything depending on how you interpret them.

I can't say much more about Blook and Asgore beside what has already been said.

Or Toby is a hack, that works too.
