Second option is to have saves of both games dumped via JKSM, copy the JP save into the EN folder and export from there.
The latter doesn't always work because of the conversion of kana <=> rōmaji.

I've played my 3DS easily more than any other current gen console combined, only surpassed by my PC, but I couldn't honestly point to one that really stood out for me.
There's been some good stuff, no doubt, but no Final Fantasy 7, no Ocarina of Time, no Ghost Trick, no Advance Wars, nothing that makes me go "Yes! This is a reason to buy this console!"

The closest I can think of is Bravely Default, and even that's pretty derivative in its own way. Not BAD, but not something I'd throw at anyone who wasn't sure what was worth playing on the thing.

Going DEX might be more fun in the end because the most powerful enemies have no weaknesses, but Physical attacks can crit. If they null/absorb/drain Gun and Phys, you're (the MC) will be useless when it comes to dealing damage but at least he can heal and buff, I guess.
