Essentially. OG sonic fan from back at the beginning. You guys remind me a lot of the fandom back then. High energy. Before the ebb of the mid 1990s, before the dark times of the mid 2000s.

I'd lost hope in the franchise a few years back. Too many failed games, false hopes. The Sonic cycle was a real thing for me. A lot of it was the autism though, guys like Chris Chan, and Spax3, the whole Shadow thing. It wears you down after a while. After Naka left, the series felt like living with a terminal patient.

Something changed over the last few years though, looking back on it. The lingering sonic cycle regrets and train wrecks like Boom just kept me away, but there has definitely been a reinvigoration for some reason. Can't say why exactly, but you don't see projects like AtS and the HD remasters for a written off franchise.

The last title I gave time to was Rush iirc. I had actually written off both Colors and Generations as cash ins, but now I actually want to play them. Hard to get a copy of Colors though, unless they re-release it on Virtual Console. Any other recommendations for a returning old-fag?

I'm asking how Elise got it, when she got it from Silver who got it from Eggman's robot who got it from Sonic who got it from Elise. Thus making a constant loop because there is no original timeline where Elise gets it from some other method

Which is a paradox, in order to seal Mephiles, Shadow has to unleash him in the present day, but if he isn't sealed then Shadow doesn't eventually go back TO seal him.

Sonic has an AWFUL Time travel story because it breaks the cardinal rule, where there has to be an original timeline for the characters to take part in.
See Chrono Trigger. There are events that happen without the help of crew before they even go through time, and what they do affects time accordingly, not that everything happened because of time travel.
