So, given that Zerker is RUINED I actually picked up the Eviscerator just to screw with my team and this thing has some interesting stuf going on.

First up - it can block big zeds easy.
Second - it allows you to slice through hordes of trash EZ with the discs, as they kill even Sirens and Husks with ease.
Third - the heavy attack (chainsaw) has insane incap. It stops a charging Scrake in no time.

So maybe it's not that shit after all. You can even save a lot of cash when you pick up the discs.

I had all 25s before sharp, and then I got sharp to 25, and I still don't have it.
If no one had it, one might assume it includes SWAT and MA. But some people do have it and I don't, so it must be bugged.

Steam Achievement Manager is not a bug. And I'm sure that the achievement requirements do include MA and SWAT. It wouldn't make sense later on for people to have the achievement for having all perks at max level without actually having all perks at max level.

They were quite literally just better Support grenades. I don't recall well anymore but it might even have been inheriting the perk damage passive. The new iteration is now just a better Sharp grenade.
Gunslinger otherwise plays the same minus knockdowns, and it takes another shot on Scrake in exchange for far faster FP kills, both of which are further augmented by the new grenade. It's even more jack of all trades than before.

It really is sad how Tripwire decided not to evolve on the weapon concept and remove perk restrictions when it comes to weapons.
Perk bonuses should apply for all weapon types, regardless of its native perk.
Can you imagine how much fun it would be if Gunslinger could dual wield ANY pistol and still get a damage bonus with it, or if Commando got a damage boost with the Medic AR as well, or if Support could make use of the Nailgun?
It just makes no sense how an expert with assault rifles somehow doesn't know how to handle one just because it belongs to the Medic.

Honestly, TWI has lost any trust I may have had for them. If they can change things, I'll be pleasantly surprised. I'm just expecting a downhill spiral as they spend the rest of development desperately trying to fix resistances, or, ignore any issues caused by it to try and push out one more class to coincide with coming out of Early Access and we get stuck with this shit for another 6 months.

Honestly, I don't know. It isn't the game I expected in parts. For example I really hate how they totally ditched their concept of breakable light and that you have to move around and "conserve" your good holdout spots. I think, if they would've invested more time in it and the mechanics tied to that they could've made quite a nice change to the 10 year old and trusted "camp in the local chokepoint till the boss pops up".
I am quite happy with the dismemberment, explosions and other fancy stuff they pulled though.
By not having a clear roadmap for anything (remember those teased things like new fleshpound sounds? stuck in limbo it seems), key devs leaving and their what feels snaily development pace with tacked on stupid decision making (micro transactions in an unfinished game, general reaction to feedback, PVP ect.) really rubbed a lot of people the wrong way and to a portion that includes me.
I still really enjoy playing KF2, but looking back at all that happend you start wondering what could've been if a few things went differently.
I doubt they have the will and manpower to really turn things around before official release, they're going to play it save as to not fuck up their console launch.
With low expectations anything can be a gentle suprise though, so let's see what's going to happen.

A is useless because you are already a pretty powerful perk. That extra 25% doesn't change a lot of things. The survivability from B helps the Sharp not get overwhelmed and additionally allows him to stack stun power a little faster.

C is useless too, I don't even think I need to explain why it is fucking retarded to choose it when you deliberately need to place yourself in a plane lower than the zeds' heads, which means you now need to aim both in the X-plane and the Y-plane instead of just one. Conversely, 100% stun power makes sure that you will be able to stun that zed faster so you can kill it while minimizing the chance that zed will cause trouble to your teammates and/or yourself, and doesn't have any drawbacks like C does.

Pretty much, and just better armament balance in general. KF1's weapons were often around similar weights, making them interchangeable not only within the perk itself, but with offperk choices as well, and many weapons could be just as powerful as the next - it was just a matter of when you got them (price). The weapon 'progression' in this game just makes all the early stuff garbage, while the end tier stuff is too heavy to carry anything but the garbage. So, what are main negatives of the game other then teleporting zeds and resistances? Those 2 will hopefully become irrelevant soon.

I've played KF2 a lot ~5 months back, got tired of it and returned with sharpshooter update. Other than perk tree making some choices mandatory I saw no huge flaws back then.

Welding was pretty effective if you got the right door. The zerk could also unweld it so the door technically doesn't die, but he'll still be walling the entry. Maps with good weld spots were rare though.

In KF2 welding is pretty much useless though.

I think it's a shit idea even on paper because it's plain illogical. There's no explanation for stalkers resisting shotguns for example. It also goes against one of the very first things they said about they game, they wanted the guns to feel powerful etc. but resistances make guns feel weak arbitrarily. The moment this idea came up it should have been shot down for several reasons.

Don't forget that this is always tripwire's way of trying to make perks unique, so instead of making weapons, perks, passives, skills unique and excel in different areas they took the easy road out.

If they really want perks to be unique they need to revamp every skill tree. You can't have perks feeling unique when you have a bunch of perks with + reload speed skills, +X% damage, +ammo and other boring skills that have very little direct impact on gameplay and can be found in several perks, leave that boring stuff for passives you get by leveling up. I don't think anyone ever picks a + reload speed skill and thinks 'this skill really sets gunslinger apart from commando', that's what skills like zed shrapnel do.

Tripwire waited really late in the game to try to make each perk stand out, they really need to ask themselves 'what role does this perk fulfill and what zeds will make it difficult for this perk to do its job'. They could have been releasing new zeds that naturally counter perks and are naturally weak to others. For example you could have smaller, more numerous crawlers that would be difficult for semi-automatic weapons to take out quickly but might be better for automatic and aoe weapons. Every new zed doesn't have to be as derivative as that but that's just an example of a natural counter with no need to do any resistance fuckery.

If TW wasn't staffed with a bunch of fucking retards, they would rip off the system from Dead Space where the Necromorphs would jump back into their spawn points and try to flank from another point. They never straight up teleported, they always had specific, logical, start and end locations for traversal.

Rather than just spawning Zeds in random playable spaces that players aren't looking at like they are now, add monster closets they bust out of, one way doors they walk in from, vents, or climbable objects like roof tops or railings.

Playing Outpost and doing a 360, only to suddenly have a pack of Gorefasts walk out from behind the snowtruck is fucking retarded. If they had to walk down from the roof, it would make sense. This would slow the game down a bit, but if they did a once over on the maps and added logical spawn locations for Zeds to enter the map from, then it wouldn't seem like such bullshit.

Unless they just covered every surface with vents, which they would probably do.

This is what they should be doing. They put the foot in the door with the Clot variants, but haven't done shit about it since. Rather than balancing Perks vs. Zeds around an arbitrary number system like Resistances, using each Perk's strengths and weaknesses by having Zeds make primes for certain perks, or a waste of ammo for others.

The big failure points were
1. making resistances too strong. There really should have only been weaknesses and maybe some resistances that made sense (husk to fire for example)
2. zeds move way too fast. It's basically impossible to coordinate as a team and focus on your perks strengths when you're getting bumrushed by stalkers
3. the resistances made no sense. Why the fuck is a crawler weak to shotguns and fire

and there's other reasons I'm sure too, but the idea of being a specialist at killing some things or at the very least having an advantage at killing them is an enticing idea.

Yeah this makes sense, having a bonus strength over a zed should be reasonable and not be balanced by making almost any other damage type on them pathetic because you dip them to x0.2-x0.7. Instead of just being a luxury bonus, its making them feel almost required and more of a pain.

If you add or change something to your game, especially without consultation to the playerbase, you should be ready to accept critique on it and actually be ready to fix whatever recommendations you get on it. Not act like it's so surprising that turning the game into Borderlands 3 isn't well received when this game was always about mass killing, and you decide to take that feeling away from the players.

Moreover, this is the kind of thing that should have been coming from Tripwire, at the most, 2 or 3 days after it was added (if they acted on normal dev time), acknowledging the fuck up and that it's not what the people want. Tripwire already built themselves a reputation of taking way too long to change something or ignoring it completely.

Of course people were gonna pissed when this was added. God, fucking seriously. In one of the recent patches (I'm sure it was before the resistances) I was playing zerker on Sui paris. Killin trash and tanking damage for the team when people get the bright idea to camp out in the house up the stairs. I tried going with it by body blocking the door but they didn't bother covering the other door downstairs so I'd constantly have to turn around and deal with all the shit they'd overlook. Add that with the knock back and I kept having to reposition myself back to the door. Eventually I got sick of getting ping pong'd in the dark so I just went outside to help the guy that wasn't dumb enough to camp inside. The demo that suggested the camp got Uber pissed and constantly died. I guess that's what you get for playing as a slow firing and reloading, low ammo capacitied, splash damage class in a fucking room you dolt.

I like the Katana but the Pulverizer exists and obviously zerk doesn't even get a bonus with it.

I like the Desert Eagle but the SW 500 does so much more damage it's not even funny.
Yes, I know some of these can be used at the same time, but the point is that if you ask me "which is better, Crovel or Pulverizer" the answer is pretty obvious. Same with the L85A2 and the SCAR. It's just so boring always getting the same tier 4 weapon and sticking with it because otherwise you're gimping yourself.

The only exception I can think of is that the Pulverizer is better than the Eviscerator. For every other perk their tier 4 is better than their tier 3.
It would be fun if the Flamethrower could be AS powerful as the MWG but required you to play differently.
They should also do away with weapon boosts being tied only to the perk in question. Like how Commando gets boosts with assault rifles but for some reason it doesn't apply to the Medic AR.

Exactly. This ties into what I just wrote. If MA was in the game and weapon bonuses weren't perk weapon specific then Berserker could use MA's weapons and get a swing speed and melee damage bonus, and MA could use Berserker's weapons and get whatever bonuses he'll have.

Tripwire is just trying to force certain perks into a role for no reason. I mean if they want diversity and different strategies that should be one of the first things they should do.
Imagine if Commando could get a boost with the AR and act as a second-rate Medic. Sure, it wouldn't be on par with a Medic for healing, but it's better than just a medic pistol.

A T4 should always be better than a T3, that's the point of them being in different tiers, and why the entire tier system is garbage. I agree that the flamethrower should be as useful a the microwave gun, like being better at killing trash but worse for big shit, but that means it should also cost the same as it would have the same usefulness. Well yeah, but the thing is that they're "better" in an even more boring way.
A weapon could be more expensive and still be a sidegrade, because it could be better for one thing than the other.
A current example of that would be the Crossbow versus the LAR. Let's imagine for a second the Crossbow is good, and that you can only carry it or the LAR along with your M14.
The Crossbow would have less ammo, would reload slower (since you reload after every shot) but would be much stronger and you can pick up the ammo again. Meanwhile the LAR has more ammo, fires more than 1 shot at a time, but isn't as powerful and you can't reuse the ammo.
The Crossbow is better against big zeds, while the LAR is better against medium zeds and trash.

I want more options like that. Again, a weapon can be more expensive because it's "more powerful" but it doesn't have to be better in practically every way.

To those complaining about most perk's weapons feeling like a direct upgrade, I think this problem will be fixed in about a year from now when we start getting more weapons added. For Commando in particular, it would be nice to have something like an M16A4 designed for killing the big zeds with many low recoil 3 round bursts.

Personally I want all perks to have some way to deal with big zeds. Right now everyone is just trash killers but some has the ability to kill big zeds and the simple trash clearers cannot compete with the ones who can kill big zeds. Every game now is just 1 Medic (with M14) + 5 Sharpshooter. Sharp weapons is so fucking good that you can start play Sui/HoE when you are just around level 10. Not to mention the M14 can also stun offperk. 2 people with M14 offperk can easily kill Scrake just by chaining headshot together.

This reminds me, I was making an L85A2 skin (gave up on it now but whatever) and I was wondering why the bullets were colored black even though there's a gold part of the texture.
Upon closer inspection it seems Tripwire fucked up importing the textures onto the bullets and the gold parts are now (just barely) hidden underneath the sight. And the bullets are black, like I said.
This hasn't been fixed since the game first came out.

If you're playing sharp/gunslinger/commando i recommend playing a map called "hillside" on HoE. You're probably gonna die a crap ton(I still do) but it forces you to aim fast and fight well. You can do it.

As for skills
First tier is up to you, personally I think the auto weapon switch on Quick Draw is extremely annoying.
Second tier you always want to go with Rhythm Method, it'll allow you to kill big guys way faster. You don't need to keep the counter up while killing trash.
Third tier go with Speedloader, always.
Fourth tier is a bit odd, before this patch Leg Shots was the way to go since you could knock down anything with just 1 shot, but thanks to the dumb resistances it now takes several. Center of Mass affects the head too so it allows you to get a few stumbles.
And for the last tier it's kind of up to you too, I go with Fanfire in case ZT activates while being next to a big guy.

Firebug: China Lake or other pump action grenade launchers that fire incendiary grenades leaving ground fire just like molotovs.

Gorefasts have 50 head HP now unlike the clot varients, stalker, and cralwer which have 20 HP.
But the AK12 does 35 base damage with the 25% perk weapon damage passive and the hollow point perk, you just barely past the threshold to 1 shot a gorefast.

Well it does literally nothing, so undoubtedly. Though even if it did work and increased more than the impact damage, it wouldn't really change much. At best, it would change the FP kill to 2 RPG+C4+grenade - saves a C4 at the cost of 8 rockets. It's relevancy would solely lie in raising the effective range of the M79 due to falloff.
