All DaS bosses have always had this weird ai quirk where they consistently fall short of you with their gapclosing attacks. As long as you just keep backpedalling, you almost never have to worry about a melee boss attacking you.

Is Greatlance bugged? This doesn't match up with the AR of it at all, this makes no fucking sense. I mean I know it's a joke in terms of it's moveset but *technically* it is the highest physical damage spear/pike and when dual wielded with an offhand thrusting sword it honestly isn't even that bad.

I just want to know wtf is up with the damage, this makes no fucking sense. I'm not crazy here, right? +10 refined (though that only gives +2 AR but meh) Greatlance here vs. a +9 normal Estoc.

I do more damage on average with a rotten ghru spear, somethin' ain't right there.
I would've just chalked it up to counterdamage giving the estoc such a big hit, but that still doesn't explain why the lance isn't at least breaking 200.

I really like the concept behind this covenant. I've had a number of hosts just abandon their phantom to me to get me the fuck out of their world.

Only needing to catch one or two careless phantoms instead of taking apart a whole squad makes a lot more weapons usable.

I had one amazing one as a sunbro who was an invader, he used obscuring ring and spells to stay out of our vision and was leading us on a path with prism stones to... somewhere. Host died like a retard so never saw the grapes master plan but it was spooky and fun.

If you can't handle squads, don't invade.
Being a purple just makes them slightly easier to deal with since you don't have to kill the host in order to succeed. The host is always a more difficult target because 15 flasks, ember HP, and the fact that they KNOW they're the target and will play passively as a result. The option to just kill a phantom or 2 in a gank makes it much easier to succeed.

It's funny. In most fights where I've managed to poison somebody, it ends up doing equal to or more damage over the course of the fight than a single bleed proc would have. The fact that buildup is still applied if they roll through it combined with the fact that you can actually trigger the status that way (unlike bleed) makes it super easy to apply. Moss attempts are a free punish and it otherwise gives you the freedom to play passively and still control the fight, because that poison is going to do some 2k damage over its duration and every second they aren't attacking you is just more free damage.
