You basically poke them to death with your q until you can all in with your ult. That's why people prefer playing AD caster Varus where you build armor pen and CDR instead of a regular ADC build.

What went absolutely right?

I play a ton of Darius, and have recently been told that Deadman's Plate is a lot better than Randuin's Omen due to the Speed-Up Passive. However, I have seen that a lot of my success has been with Randuin's Omen. I feel that the passive on Deadman's Plate becomes a lot more clunky as you build it up and break it down more often in a fight. I feel much better with the slow from Randuin's Omen after I pull players in to combo nicely with my Q and W.

My question is, should I make the switch to Deadman's Plate now instead of constantly going for Randuin's Omen? If so, then why specifically? Should there be a time where I go for one or the other for specific match-ups?

What Deadman's Plate really does is give you a ton of roaming power, I'd imagine that's great for Darius who can go push the shit out of a lane and then run back to join his team.

A lot of it also comes down to situational things based on team comps or just how people are playing. If you don't need MS to catch up with the enemy because they are slow and/or stupid, then maybe sticking power after they realize you're about to kill them is more important than initial MS.

Some champions have 2-3 passives, which makes some passives seem bad in comparison even if they're actually ok.

Taliyah is by far the funnest champ I've played support but it's hard to work with her usually. For some reason the enemies ALWAYS happen to get away with 5 hp lately.
We're beating the shit out of them on bot then suddenly, whoosh the enemies gain Hecarim charge speed and leg it out when they have nothing left. And at times I swear they used a heal or flash just 40 seconds ago then it's available again.

It happened so many times just today it just got stupid.

No, it's not. The AS you get from Stinger is nice, the Phage portion is like 50/50, the Sheen portion is shit. It works on Jax because he can weave multiple abilities into his combo very rapidly, whereas Xin is best using all of his abilities at once (and even at 40% CDR your cooldowns don't come up fast enough to justify it).
