Depends on lanes, you don't want 3 tanks in your team usually. Even 2 is too much in some comps. Basically there are 2 types of junglers not damage or tank but gankers and farmers. Despite what /lolg/ and /rebbit/ says, this season is the best season by far, and I've been playing since season 2.
Until season 4, there were certain champions who were imbalanced as fuck and Riot couldn't figure out what to do. You think Vlad, Swain, or Lux is broken now? Riven, Irelia, Yorick, etc. were actually broken as fuck and had no actual counter play to them. People think season 3 was the pinnacle of LoL, but it was just a shitfest in normals and ranked.

Items have a lot more impact now, giving several item routes and being able to try new thing with better success than in the past. I remember when Force of Nature and Warmog's armor was ever tank build. Now you can build different combinations of Deadman's plate, Zz Portal, Spirit Visage, Titanic Hydra, Streak, etc. and still be viable in game.

The graphics are so much better than it was ever, and I don't think I need to talk about that.

The jungle feels so much more effective now with the new smite system, epic monsters, and buff effects. Before the change in season 5, jungle felt so menial like there was nothing to gain from it other than level up a 5th person that would come out and try to help other's snowball. Now junglers actually feel like a part of the team rather than a summoner's spell.

And talking about players who now feel like a part of the team, supports! They actually do something now that iteams have more active abilities. They have actual gold income iteams that helps them interact with lane and the team instead of a "just sit behind the adc and heal him while you get passive gold." This has opened up a whole new list of supports such as Voli, Morgana, Lux, etc. that only became popular after season 5 with the rework.

Dynamic Que isn't that damaging to Elo as /rfaggots/ thinks and toxicity has actually gone down since dynamic que was added.

Fuck all the ragers who complain. The time this game isn't fun is when you rage and tilt yourself

I usually ban Blitzcrank in my ranked which almost always results in enemy taking Braum or Thresh. I feel fine with Leona, she is very much relevant if you know what you are doing and your ADC follows up instead of leaves you 1v2 once you engage. If not Leona I just take Janna, Annie or Veigar. Where do you guys get this idea that tanks aren't supposed to do damage? A lot of these tanks fall into the tank/fighter category, they trade mobility in exchange for damage and defense.

If for some reason you let Garen become relevant, your adc deserves to die. If for some reason Garen catches you with his piss poor mobility and can be kited to death, you deserve to die.

Of course there's examples of tank overperforming (maokai, tank ekko, etc) but Garen isn't one of them.

Balance before the juggernaut patch was good, given that you could select quite a lot of champions and not be totally fucked and you could form multiple team comps. After the juggernaut patch this ceased to be true, as you are now(previous patch), for example, a tank in the top lane and a AoE waveclear mid. Roles are now defined by champion archetype rather than it being free, and this was less of a problem in the past where even with the cycles of buffs/nerfs that brought out fotm champions it was still possible to play out your team comp to success.

Supports should be utility first and damage supports should be revaluated. Midlaners should be able to go bot but should suffer because of it.

Tanks should be relevant damage threats but not kill ADCs outright by themselves without some sort of catch.

Assassins should always have a catch and an obvious, if not always easy, way to deal with them. If you misstep they kill you, if you stand where you should, they don't.

ADCs should be the main damage source but be actually vulnerable. As it stands, the only good ADCs are the ones that can't be killed or are so overwhelmingly useful their fragility doesn't matter. Immobility kills, and that's dumb, because it's supposed to be their weakness.

- Tanks are characters that are durable as fuck. That's it. Garen is a Durable/Nuker, he is a tough body whose primary contribution to a given team comp is killing shit, same as Darius. They have little else to offer and they function as tough carries.

All tanks do that in some capacity. Hell all characters do really. Every character will deal more and more damage with time by virtue of existing. Maokai deals respectable damage, especially early but damage is not his primary benefit, his utility is. He can't really blow people up like Garen, Darius, Volibear, or Mundo but in exchange he provides utilities in the form of hard crowd control, disengage, vision, and team wide damage reduction. I really do need people to throw away the idea that tanks and supports shouldn't be able to deal damage though, it's fucking preposterous.

Leona is a good pick against Blitz and goes even/has a slight advantage against Thresh/Braum, but overall she's just too weak right now.
Most popular pokey support will shit on her early levels and make her useless for the rest of the laning phase. Even passed the laning phase, just doesn't offer as much as the rest of the meta supports who either deal tons of damage of bring a lot of utilities.

I think the problem that most of these people have is that they think carries don't do any damage because they are glass canons, making them easy to kill and making them feel like they don't don't do any damage since they CAN get bursted down before getting any damage out.

Although the champs you listed can be tanky and carry games, given full build and equal skill, the glass canons would beat brusers/tanky carries because of high damage DPS and/or sustain form lifesteal.

Tanks have high damage to squishy targets such as glass canons because they are squishy and glass canons. If you get nuked by a Garen, then you deserve it for being bad at dueling a Garen. Additionally, Garen is not a tank like scrubs think, he's a bruser. Malphite is a good example of a tank who is tanky af but can be outplayed if done properly.

GLASS CANNON Carries have to dodge and kite their way through fights to survive so that they can deal damage, since in order to deal damage in the first place you have to survive engagements. Many carries are naturally tough and survive by being hard to kill while dishing out damage. Mundo, Warwick, and Shyvana aren't going to dodge or kite things. They're charging in headfirst and will win fights through sheer force and toughness (Mundo's insane regen, Shyvana's natural defensive steroids, Warwick lifestealing through everything).

Every champ has some degree of "carry potential" because abilities in League scale with items, so most characters have a pretty linear power curve and Riot has worked to force this even further with "Late game fantasy". Warwick IS a carry. Carry/Disabler/Initiator/Nuker to be precise.

I worded myself poorly but what I'm trying to say is that Garen blowing someone the fuck up isn't a big deal, it's what Garen is SUPPOSED TO DO. He isn't meant to provide any kind of utility, he's meant to kill things while being hard to kill himself. He's supposed to be a tough opponent for squishy targets, especially casters, and especially if he's ahead.

No, they don't. They stopped that ages ago to try to branch away from DotA I guess. It was a dumb move because the DotA Role system is a lot more descriptive of a given character than Riot's system. Both Elise and Swain are Mage/Fighter, but that doesn't tell me shit of what either of them do and they have completely different playstyles. Elise is Nuker/Jungler/Disabler/Escape, Swain is Carry/Nuker/Durable/Disabler. That gives me a better idea of what to expect out of each of them at a glance without looking at exactly what their kits do.

Garen already has 15 more MS than the average ADC.
A permanent +20 MS means he now has 35 more, which is about 1.2%. Constantly.
He can get to objectives 1.2% faster than you. He can close a gap 1.2% faster than you can make one.
On top of having another MS steroid on his kit and taking something like Swifties while the ADC takes Zerkers.
Now hes 45 MS faster than you.
You literally cannot escape him without CC at that point. Unless youre Vayne, but then killing Garen is your sole purpose on the team.

Personally, I'd say the quality that makes Warwick a carry is that he can build whatever he needs to let his team function around him, and if his team does their job, even if a key target escapes a teamfight, his passive maintains vision on them without needing to ward constantly, letting the most mobile of team members chase them, and giving non-skill shot users ways to finish off squishies that tried to hide in a bush to recall. His lack of a gapcloser is made up for by controlling the map around himself so that the people on his team that DO have them can use them.

This applies to Warwick. He's one of the more farm dependent characters in the game. Additionally Warwick's steroid is far more severe than Jarvan's is (80% AS to himself and 40% to allies as opposed to 22% at max rank) and it's just a flat increase, as opposed to Jarvan's steroid being in an aoe around the standard he throws.

Well yeah, being 6 lets him actually gank. He's shit early because he isn't a threat without items and he can't engage without his ultimate. Most characters spike at level 6, this includes Jax and Tryndamere because they can begin to partake in engagements that they'd die in otherwise.

Nerffie, warwick is easily kited and a single qss is enough to counter his whole kit. He does not get stronger as he gets more items in the sense that Ashe gets stronger as she hits 6 items or Jax gets stronger as hit 6 items. You need something to be able to be defined as a carry. That has always been damage and warwick has nothing. If I build J4 full AD that doesn't make him a carry, just an assassin that has the ability to carry. This is not just semantics at play here.

His E is completely ripped from Bloodseeker, another carry. His passive makes him similar to Lifestealer, another carry. His ultimate allows him to lock people down to force fights or straight up burst them down in a 1v1 situation. He might be outdated but he is very much a carry.

Also Mundo IS a tank that is also a carry, whereas Shen and Amumu lean towards the Support/Initiator side, that is using their abilities to create opportunities for allies.
