The full auto railguns has been fixed.

Also they don't need to nerf the AI, they just need to make it so you're not literally ALWAYS running into Elite-level NPCs. Whenever Im running missions I'm almost guaranteed to only get stuck with Elite Eagles/Vipers packing railguns that rip me to shit within seconds if I don't immediately high wake out. It's awful, and this happens everywhere. Deadly/Dangerous/Elite rank AI should be locked only to hazrez in Anarchy/low sec systems and even then be uncommon.

Also, for fucks sake, stop with the fucking railguns, Ftroop. Why the fuck does every AI have railguns now. This is my biggest problem with them but I doubt they'll do anything because MUH DANGEROUS

I'd really love to play in open if this game were decent and Ftroop had any fucking idea how to properly balance a multiplayer game, but I don't think Kinectimals and roller coaster sims gave them the experience they needed. There is literally no reason to play Open in it's current iteration unless you want to dick around this starfield screensaver with a friend. You may as well go play Decent.

FDL is quite fast, decently maneuverable and has a great armament with excellent fire arcs. It also has the best pound for pound shield tank potential in the game. FAS is a Vulture 2.0 - turns very well, has good centrally located armament and very solid defenses. Honestly I'd probably go FAS if you have the rank, it's significantly cheaper and turns much better.

Im willing to bet that the high count is due to the grind Engineers brought, just like some of us spent 100+ or 200+ hours in this game grinding endlessly in the faint hope that getting to some of the bigger ships and better gear would make the game more fun.

The latest update also brought some nice quality of life changes so it isnt all bad, especially if you didnt get suckered into buying Horizons.

the Clipper was a ship I had always wanted right up until I got one. It's fast and maneuverable and that's about it. The weapon placement is insulting, its hull is made of paper and it can only dock at large pads so outposts are right out.

Ftroop clearly has no idea how to design a game like Elite and they even have some old talent that worked on the original back in 1984, so what talent do they have that will allow them to add some innovative features that let you walk around that:

A) Won't be bugged to shit and not fixed ever because FD is railroaded into a very strict design schedule because they have to focus on pumping out more shitty tacked on features so senile dads will keep on buying season passes and multiple game clients for separate commanders.
B) Have enough content that it will enrich the content that was already there instead of being played once, getting called out on the horrible shitty mess that it is, and then never played again and forgotten in a month like literally every fucking major update to Elite so far.

Stop with these features that do nothing to the game. If they gave any semblance of a fuck about the game they would realize that adding this shit does nothing for the game itself but break it further by introducing more bugs and wasting man hours that they could have used fixing the game and enriching shit like PowerPlay and Horizons to be actually decent. They don't give a fuck though, and they just want the "Wow!" factor that makes retards buy their expansions, even if they end up grinding for hours, hating it, and then dropping it forever. Thankfully for FD, most of these retards say, "Well... maybe the next season will be better."

I'd be fine with them delaying everything to work on powerplay and Engineers, but you're right, they won't. They'll keep adding the new stuff that's been announced so they can try to get some sales.

That post probably sounded horribly aggressive so I apologize but this is what happens when you deal with dads that thinking sitting in SC for 20 minutes is fine and that it is perfectly logical for a game to charge you twice just for you to have the luxury of a second save slot.

The problem is that Elite has a lot of good ideas but they're just so horribly implemented because people like Sandro and Braben are slave driving their dev teams into this one VISION of the game instead of doing one big update, and then spending a lot of time polishing it. PowerPlay could be fucking great. Imagine coordinating with a bunch of pilots in game and shit talking Aisling dads after taking resource-rich systems that make sense instead of these convoluted systems of CC and all this shit that you need to fucking track down info on the forums just to begin to understand. Engineers could be a really good addition, one anon I think maybe last thread gave suggestions about engie mods that would mod your chaff launchers to launch super bright flares that blind attacking pilots, and a few others that I can't remember right now but they were great ideas instead of having bland stat upgrades after a tedious grind like Engineers has now.

I don't make suggestions about powerplay at all or specific engineer upgrades, because honestly, I haven't played since powerplay launched.

There's so much basic stuff missing like storage it's sad. I check out the forums and it sounds terrible right now.

I would just go exploring but I can't even get interested in that again because the stuff that would make it fun like the Formidine Rift, Thargoids, Raxxla, rogue AI, etc., apparently still haven't been added or fd expects us to find it on our own in the galaxy while giving us the most epic cock tease.

I kind of enjoyed Reclamation. While the Elite books are pretty standard "series sci-fi" like Star Trek or SW books they are a fair bit more exciting than the game itself.

Maybe that's why Braben is trying to shut them out.

Hypocrites. They should let him release the first book with only rules for ships. Then in the 1st splatbook he can add ground vehicle rules. In the 2nd splatbook he can add character rules. Also don't playtest it at all, for that unique Elite flavour.
