basically they made it so zeds are resistant to everything except certain weapon types each. Shotguns for example do 1/3rd damage to crawlers.

It basically ruined the game. There are now 22 different types of resistance per zed. If you get surrounded by something like stalkers and you have a shotgun good luck.

Resistances themselves aren't inherently a big problem. The big issue that makes them so shit is that zeds move way too fast to properly coordinate the amount of teamwork required to focus on the zeds your perk can handle. Good luck not constantly getting surrounded by crawlers and stalkers and now having no way of getting them off you. With no door welding it's basically impossible to watch all places zeds are coming from so even if you're say a commando you can't kill every stalker that might show up.

Have you not seen what the fucking incap/resistances did to the game?

Demo is even more worthless now, Support can't kill anything besides Clots, Gorefasts now refuse to die, Firebug can't even kill crawlers (THEY GET BONUS EXP FOR KILLING THEM, AS IF TRIPWIRE WANTED FIREBUGS TO DEAL WITH THEM).

Stalkers are now tankier than sirens, bloats now have extremely high bullet resistance even though headshotting them with bullets is how they're supposed to be fucking dealt with.

Demo can no longer stun FPs with dynamite, making him even more worthless than he was before the "buff" and his RPG has the explosion radius of a fucking commando nade. Zerk can't block/parry damage nearly as effectively AS THE FUCKING TANK PERK, doesn't do enough damage to even defend his team from the weakest of trash, and has to choose between either his old run speed or 150 hp. Slinger is now so useless that he isn't even mentioned anywhere anymore.

You should probably know going in that it has microtransactions. You get a crate with 4 random cosmetics (skins, sprays, emotes) every time you level up, and you can also buy the crates. But they're free to open once you have them, whether from levelling or buying them. There's also ingame currency you can get to buy a specific thing if you really want it. That's mostly gained from getting dupes in crates.

That's my biggest gripe with microtransactions, is when they do these fucking crates. They can't just sell you the item, they have to sell you keys to MAYBE get the item. Personally I blame Valve for their micros, they helped OVERKILL set up their system for Payday 2 which was a flop and inspired many other systems. Probably the only perk that is almost completely unaffected by the Zed resistances, at least relative to the others.
I strongly recommend playing now and enjoying it as much as you can, because as soon as TW realise that it's actually fun to play, or as soon as the PvP Zeds start bitching about it, it'll be nerfed into the ground along with everything else.

Fuck you TW cocksuckers, this isn't some pokemon game. This wasn't a thing in KF1 and it shouldn't be in KF2, its not like the game gives you many windows of opportunities to just pick your fights to begin with when enemies charge in your face.
What do you expect me to do when a herd of stalkers get ready to slap me into a corner where I can barely hurt them at point blank, ask someone to deal with them? By that time i'd be dead or burnt through several shots of ammo just to get rid of them and defend myself, only for more enemies to flip in my face.
Giving enemies a weakness I can deal with, but don't give them several resistances below 0.5 and think that's balanced. Shit like fleshpounds are an exception because they're few and meant to be a big obstacle like mini-bosses which typically require your attention unless you want an early wipe.

You know what the worst part about all of this is? Tripwire are probably patting themselves in the back after all of this, thinking "Well, we gave them what they asked for! Releasing things we were trying in a beta preview so they could test things before the live update! They can't really complain about it!", without realizing that:

Go play KF1 on HoE, see how annoying a single Bloat can sometimes be when things are coming from all sides and that huge bag of fat is still walking and covering your shots to all the crap behind it even without a head, even when it often took just one or two shots from anything to decap them.

The whole point was that you were supposed to headshot it as soon as possible so his body would eventually fall down and allow you to shoot the smaller stuff once it died. A risk-and-reward situation where focusing a Bloat before other things could probably save your life in the longer term because he would be out of the way sooner, and the low head health complemented that.

Making the amount of headshots needed to decap one higher now shows not even TWI was aware of what the Bloat's purpose was. Now, focusing on one is often counterproductive because it takes way more shots to decap it, so you may as well leave it alone until other stuff is clear. And it's fucking retarded.

I played a round as SS and I was struggling to figure out why everything felt so tanky on hard. I thought it was because I was a level 0 sharpshooter but after I found out about the resistances everything made sense.

Reminds me of when last update came out, except I got super fucking lucky with my items.
I bought ~€25 worth of keys and USBs and ended up making €110 net profit thanks to both managing to sell my "rare" items by undercutting them and getting a quick buyer and from getting a hat people thought would be worth a fuckton but as it turns out I was the ONLY one who managed to sell it for over €80 when it's "really" worth €40.
But yeah anon if I were you I'd start selling those things as soon as the 7-day trade ban wears off. Undercut and you might make a quick buck, or at least get a return on the money spent.

Tripwire is just oing SO much stupid shit. I honestly can't even support them anymoe. KF2's been a train-wreckand the only thing that makes me not eel buyer's remorse is that the ame is cheap as hell.

They're going to beshooting themselves in the fot with the free weekend as well. Newplayers will come, see what a cluster fuck the game is, and they won't buy it. The whole point of the free weekend is to give the players a good impression so that they may want to buy it, but Tripwire does it for one of their most mediocre, low-effort, and worse-balanced patches.

Why nee do the free weekend for an earl access game? It's not even complete yet and the people who play for free won't have any constructive feedback to give that already hasn't been given by the end of the weekend.

I can't believe how much they managed to fuck this game up.

This got me so hype for the game, and it wasn't even released yet. It boggles my mind how Tripwire has used a quality>quantity approach while the game is in early access. Isn't the whole point of EA is for it to act as a kind of beta? Go ahead and release perks and weapons that aren't finished yet. Delay sound files and voice lines, but just show people that you're actually working on things and doing something. Jesus christ, now they're aiming to release the game by the end of this year. The only thing they can do is MAYBE add a single new perk and un-fuck this clusterfuck of balance changes, so that it's polished upon release.

How long do you guys give this game? With the 2000~ player count right now, I can't see the game surviving a year after release. Maybe it will have a dedicated playerbase, but I bet that Tripwire will find a way to scare away all of those people too with their stupid decisions.

I raged a bit when I did not like the new installments in the vidya series. For years I hated Max Payne 2/3 before accepting them.
I didn't really rage at TF2 mannconomy, I even bought training rocket launcher for shits and giggles.
KF2 is the first time the rug has been completely pulled from under me. A new type of despair. The game is still playable, but you just know it's all downhill from here.

Well it may require you to restart KF1 a few times if you subscribed and mod didn't appear. Another option is noticing the author about the issue and convincing him/her to provide a dropbox link, if he/she didn't already.
Also mind you, custom made mods only work in solo on the mutator or the servers that support it.

In KF1 we had speedkill combos that require swift eye-hand coordination. In KF2 with all these abrubtly abused ZED mechanics (leg stumble, chest stumble, knockdown, stun) it makes things abit confusing.
At the end of the day, you'll get to live longer as long as you press M1 in KF2 with loads of ZED mechanics, meaningless teleport, spawns off from walls and limited door lifespan that is hidden. While in KF1, it's pretty subtle to read a map for hotspots that clogged by spawns in a blink, the points that you need to break through by standing together, challenge spots, learning about speedkills, learning accuracy of weapons, figuring out weldable doors for funneling, and kiting routes.
From my point of view KF1 just gives you what you need and ask you to job to be done. With fewer mechanics, but menacing threat level coming from everything once you got cornered. While KF2 made with consoles in mind with all the glorified reskins and leaves little room for pinpoint accuracy. All in all I also think KF1 map layout is better and it manages to catch both casual players who funnel to M1 at specimen coming from one gate and hardfans who hold at the open areas with precise speedkills. In KF2 reading a map ain't really possible, everything looks like a gimmick or a decoration rather than a mark, and everyone seem to attracted towards the large areas instead of holding a corridor without zerkwall.
tl;dr: I'd say KF1 is better but I have like no real gameplay on KF2, you may call me biased.

I can't give a strong opinion on that. Just... KF1 has a very small cult of dedicated players who know or have an opinion about each other. It helps you to identify scrubs or trolls but also opens to drama.
KF2 as of now may seem more "shit" or "toxic" because it's new and it appears most of the trolls migrated to there. Just stop giving a fuck. KF2 community only would be good and smooth as its gameplay would be. All eyes turn to TWI at this point.

If I had to hazard a guess it's that certain parts of zeds code stays active even on their corpse. Same reason your character will sometimes call out their "that zed is weak!" line when you bash a corpse or something. God knows how you manage to spaghetti code that into letting bodies damage players I've no idea, sounds like they don't even check if a zed is actually alive before letting it damage a player.

Unless you have access to a private passworded server, you'll be playing with low levels and since servers have a limited amount of vote-kicks you'll be forced to either deal with it or find a new server.
