how viable is Throwing in the late game? ive put 15 points into to see what its like and i can soften up those enemies with stones quite nicely, even kill them in fringe cases but i dont think enemies past Dungeon will be very impressed by it

If you are a ruk caster, you 2shot orbs of fire with 27 throwing, around 60% damage, more with a good roll. Everything else that isn't a boss gets straight up one shot unless you get a shit roll.

If you can't cast ruk, get min delay with javelins and call it a day.

Not that anon, but look - because of dual spell schools, when you train Hexes you get cross training on Spectral Weapon and Fulminant Prism, when you train Charms, you get cross training on Death's Door, when you train Conjurations, you cross train the majority of elemental offensive spells and so on, and so on.

What would be the use for it? Only escaping nets and constriction? But you usually don't even know which enemies carry nets until it's too late. Also knowing devs, they'd call it tedious (thus unwanted) to have a spell that you cast every time you see a gnoll, a merfolk, a naga/anaconda or that Zot/Abyss hentai monster.

Also increasing size decreases your Stealth and EV, so I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to use it ever. Now 1 tier smaller on the other hand... but then again - tedious etc., won't get implemented for the same reasons buffs like Condensation Shield were removed.

That's not so much cross training as it is a 1/2 or 1/3 XP penalty for multi-school spells.
Sure, training X helps with all partially-X spells, but those spells require 2-3 times more XP to begin with.

I just don't understand why you need to intentionally fuck up your control scheme. Hell, even Elona lets you hotkey spells.

Play a Giant [literally anything], then enter the first town.

Pic related. The large green dot is a dude that will give you the key to locked door nearby. Behind this door is a metal cap (+2 armor) a potion, and a stone hammer. Unless you have anything better, wear the cap: armor is superior to dodge, at least for the first few dungeons. Talk to him again and he'll give you a quest to kill a wizard in a nearby dungeon. For your success, he'll give you a lightning-broadsword, some chainmail, and a potion.

After this, talk to the dude located at the pink dot. He will give you a quest to kill the tombrobber dude that probably killed you at the graveyard. Do not do this yet. Instead, wear the cap (or the best armor you can) and enter the dungeon. You should be almost invincible since everything on the first floor is very weak.

Gain a few levels, hope your enemies drop bodies. If they do, try to skin them: the ^ near the brown dot in the picture allows you to turn skins into armor for free. The higher your level when you make the armor, the more resistances it gives.

When you have at least 8 armor, you should be able to do clear the graveyard. Do so. Inside the crypt there is an item called the Sun Gem. Kill the dude, get the gem, and head back to town.

Next, decide who you're going to give the Sun Gem to. The Smith, located within the burgundy rectangle, will give you a really nice (2d10+8 and an additional effect, IIRC) hammer for it, the Plowman, located at the purple dot, will probably give you something too, I don't know, and the Scholar, located within the red rectangle (probably, he may wander off somewhere else in the town and you'll have to find him) will give you two scrolls of Identify and teach you Literacy if you can't read.

After that, you should be done in the town. Clear the keep but don't use the stairs; the upstairs leads to drakelings that will kill you quickly.

You have a boat, float around; I don't know where to go after this.

casting spells without setting up macros is a pain because it's a lot of keystrokes

e.g. if you want to cast the "Immunity" spell you need to press m -> select book -> select spell -> select element

you can reduce this to a single keystroke with a macro though, and macros are really easy to set up

I've already died, but in retrospec, how should I actually play as DD of Pakellas? I've cleared lair, spider, shoals and mines no problem, but in elf I just kept running out of mana to power my healstick (and no, I was not using my max MP), and was pretty much unable to get enough kills enough to power up it more, and I had 40 AC and maxed out MR bar, solid elem res too. How should I have handled the shituation? Should I have gone vault because it has a bunch of low hp mooks and less chances of encountering animated antimagic weapons?

Alright. I fixed up the rewards.html page for 4.0.2 and put everything in tables.

I'm not sure of the aesthetics at all- it certainly doesn't look as nice as the spellbooks spoiler- but it is complete-unlike the spellbooks spoiler- and it works.

All the monster names link to the monster's spoiler, for both the arena rewards and dungeon tables. I won't be doing the same for artifacts or items though.

If anything doesn't link properly, do let me know somehow. Hope this is useful to someone.

However for new players reading those, which really should replace the pasta since that black background is great, you could add those short notes of whether the quests have awful summoners or not like in the pasta to be similar descriptions as in the spellbook case when you scroll over the quest name.
Just a drunken suggestion though, but some of those quests are fucked up unless your character is really fucking powerful and I think it's reasonable to tell new players to avoid them if they don't fully understand the concept of end-game summoning capabilities yet.

Depends on what you want. If you want something completely different, Cataclysm will scratch your crafting and comfy needs. Elona+ will take those needs to places you didn't know existed. Tome4 will take you on the opposite side of the spectrum, where all you do is kill and loot. The tiles are butt ugly though. IA is similar, but more spooky and with lots more running away. You could try Dredmor for a mixture of both, but try it with an open mind. its better than people give it credit, but stlil has major flaws. MSE is for purging as well.

I have won twice and dispel magic was never more than a slight annoyance.
It would be better if certain buffs had some sort of resistance to it (so Giant's Strength resists 90% of the time, speed resists 5%, and everything in between) Would be a nice buff to buff classes.

Still, it's not a big deal and most classes don't pile on 30 buffs for J. Usually it's just 1-3 which are easily replaced.
