I'm more of a Microsoft fan than a Sony fan to-be-honest.

Microsoft doesn't really impress the niche 4chan market with how corporate they are for pushing marketed "cool" games, but I firmly believe they at least KIND OF try, you might not like 99% of what they're offering but at least they're pumping out content after content for games during the conference.

Sony didn't do anything last year. They announced Shenmue 3 without admitting that they're not really funding it, a lame Final Fantasy remake everybody ended up hating, and padding the conference with indie games and nice words.

If I weren't a PC gamer I'd honestly go with a Xbox One over PS4, they announced a few titles that really stuck with me and brought up interest -- Killer Instinct is an awesome fighting game that for the longest time was exclusive to their system, i'm a huge Sam Lake fan so I was ecstatic to hear that Phil Spencer was bringing Quantum Break to PC as well, Sunset Overdrive is wacky fun they, some solid Forza games, and they even have nice compilations like Rare Replay and then there's future stuff like Sea of Thieves, Cuphead, Scalebound, Crackdown 3, and Dead Rising 4 coming out in the future. And Phantom Dust if it wasn't vaporware.

Despite being the most corporate-faced company ever, I'd argue they pumped out quite a few interesting "lesser" titles, in comparison the only game I actively play in Sony's game department is Street Fighter V, and Killer Instinct is still a lot better. The Gravity Rush games are a snoozefest, and Bloodborne is alright, but most people will tell you to just play Dark Souls 3 which is a way better Souls game, and then there's just...Nothing. They even lack dudebro games, unless you're not in the mood for Uncharted what else you got, shitty ass Killzone?

I dunno maybe I'm a contrarian but I really don't get the Sony circlejerk, they indoctrinate the audience every year by saying almost nothing.

The official version takes a few liberties, with the consequences of that being some dumb decisions on some of the conversations.
There's also the removal of the petting minigame (it's a really cringeworthy minigame, but it shouldn't have been removed anyways) and the bad (female) voice acting of the localized version. There are a lot of hacks out there, maybe there's a version with the JP features and the Treehouse translation.

Are the NES Remixes 1&2 worth $12?
It feels kind of expensive for snippets of ancient games that I already own, but the idea of the championship mode sounds pretty appealing even if it looks much worse than the actual Nintendo World Championships game.

I know that Sony busts out a lot of money for exclusivity and whatnot. But I actually really wish that Vanillaware could have gotten Odin Sphere onto the Wii U. And the Wii U should be able to handle that game more than fine so there would be no issues. And then you could use he gamepad for the inventory management without having pause everything, which would do wonders for the game. It would be the definitive version for sure because of it.

But as it turns out, it's just on the PS4, PS3, and PSV, while being a terrific remake, still leaves me with many of the old gripes I had with the game from its PS2 days.
People honestly shit on the gamepad way too much. The thing can be damn useful even without a big focus being on it. Just look at Shovel Knight for instance. The Plague Knight expansion is almost required to be played on a 3DS or a Wii U. Having to pause every time you want to try a new bomb combination really kills the experience.

I can get it to display on the gamepad only but I can't get the Wiimote pointer to display.
I've heard you can set it up so you just point at your gamepad with your wiimote and it will display but I can't figure out how to get it to work.

So it turns out that for the "Buy downloadable software" missions, it only counts the original price and not the price you bought it at.
That means if you buy a game on sale, you get the amount of coins that you'd get if you bought it at full-price.
I just bought the Metroid Prime Trilogy for 13 dollars and got the full 30 coins instead of 10.

3DS needs another year on the shelf to justify it's incremental upgrade. Or they can just make another incremental upgrade with a better graphics card and screen resolution and start falling into the endless vortex of Capcom naming conventions.

If NX has a handheld portion it will likely be sold as it's own system, but be required in Wii U backward compatibility and won't be as cross compatible as people would think. (All handheld games would work on the TV, but only a small portion of TV games would work on the handheld.)

With MKX I could understand since the game competitively is mostly based around getting a hard knock down and making your opponent guess in the corner, but MK9 didn't have the kind of vortex meta that X revolves around, it was very footsie based and significantly more balanced with DLC characters that actively didn't break the game like other fighting games, and aesthetically was very vibrant (surprisingly for a western game of that era) with dynamic stages, where as X was very drab and dull in it's palette.

It even kept the toasty gag from the original arcade series, as a successor to past games it probably kept it's integrity and identity intact more than any other fighting game, much less games in general of that era, with the otherwise successful SFIV lacking in it's art direction and Soul Calibur V eventually abandoned most of the established cast.

Like I have no clue what you could possibly have against the game unless you just dislike the way NRS handles zoning, which is kind of weird admittedly, but if you played the games before MK9's development then you'd know how monumental it was in making the franchise worth taking semi-seriously again, it was a HUGE leap in quality.

I feel like most critics don't actually have a familiarity with the content Xbox One produces, they just latch on to names/studios and make confirmation bias to criticize the library. If you actually played or saw more than five minutes of Sunset Overdrive footage you'd know it has nothing in common with Ratchet & Clank. I'd hate to say something ridiculous like this but hating the Xbone has almost become a meme at this point for certain communities.

Killer Instinct in particular took a long time to be taken seriously not for any particular reason other than the combo breaker system and being on Xbox One. I bought into the "KI sucks" meme too until I actually played it during Season 2 and now it's one of my favorite fighters, and most people who originally thought it was weird and ugly looking are now noticing it has some of the best lighting for modern fighting games, and the system itself is very dynamic and encourages creativity. (It definitely helps that the PC port gave it more attention)

In general i've come to hate gaming hiveminds in the community, not even on 4chan.

Personally I just call that specifically style of game "64bitventures," even though Zelda has existed before the N64. It's an easy way to call those not-narrative, not-action, not-RPG, not-open world but still a mix-mash of all the above type games that spawned from that era, like the 3D Zeldas/Mega Man Legends/Goemon/3 D Ray-man etc.
