Alright guys, Demo can kill an FP on 6 Player HOE with 2 pipes and 2 RPG rounds. Splash Damage on the RPG is shit unless you're running the extra AOE skill. TNT simply stumbles FP's now.

Zerker can guarantee a flinch/stumble with pulv with Scrake when gets hit on the head, Zerker got a nice damage buff and also kills FP with 8 loaded pulvs to the head, Ran Butcher and Smash.

TWI says it wants to promote team play, but all this is gonna do is increase the gap between shitter pubs and competent players. I feel nothing but a mix of emptiness and rage. This might be the update that makes me quit. I was looking forward to SS so much, but I don't think even SS is gonna save this trainwreck.

Cant run as fast as pre-patch, even with the move speed perk.
Don't have as much hp as before if you choose the hp perk.
Melee attack speed slower than before regardless of perk choices.
No more knockdowns.
No more base 25% extra melee damage.
All zeds resist all melee damages.

And yet TWI in their infinite wisdom insist this isn't a nerf, and in some ways the zerk is stronger than before.

As expected, the railgun truly trivializes scrakes and fleshpounds like nothing. Just won a suicidal game on the new paris map with 4 sharpshooters, me level 6, another level 8 and everyone else sub-5. We didn't have any trouble. The sharpshooters died on patriarch because they weren't careful but I did just fine.

Personally I enjoy the m14 too much, even though it does less damage than the scar used to to literally every head except scrakes and fleshpounds, so I'll pass on the railgun most of the time.

Crossbow is kind of pointless so far but works as a sidearm for damage, you can't stun with it nearly as well as you can with the m14.

Bloat heads are stupidly resilient now (remember when LAR one-shotted them? Now, you need 3 shots, and the m14 is even weaker than the LAR). Stalkers are stupidly bullet-proof to everything but the head, and every now and then a LAR shot to the head will stun them instead of decaping them. Crawlers are completely impervious to 9mm ammo and that's a huge bitch to deal with, I sometimes empty the whole 15 rounds in a couple crawlers only to find them still biting at my ankles.

Demo seems good, I haven't played but seen lots of pubs having fun with it. Zerker is near unplayable on suicidal even at level 25, either it will get some serious getting used to, or it's just gonna suck forever.

The new girl has a stupid design that doesn't fit the game at all, even stupider tattoos that don't fit her design, and an annoying voice. Looks like she got triple times the customisation all the other character got all together.

The resistances themselves, I have no idea if it's a good thing or not, it just feels weird so far.
The whole teamwork build-up incap system they mentionned is either not ingame or very intricate to trigger because I've seen very little incaps beside flat-out stuns from m14 or LAR spam.

I've never been more disappointed by an update in my life, it's unbelievable how every single patch to this fucking game makes it even worse, how they've managed to fuck up almost every system. We wanted more interesting ways to demonstrate individual knowledge like kf1, instead we get this travesty.
Swapping to a handgun as firebug to efficiently decap bloats or husks? Jokes on you, .3x/.4x modifier respectively.
Bashing a zed that's mid-attack as a pseudo-parry? Incap system destroys that.
Locking down an entire lane with well placed headshots? Well, now half the zeds will randomly require half a mag to the head to decap because "reasons".
Duelling large zeds effectively by practicing parrying? Let's just remove that skill ceiling by making parrying shit awful. Wouldn't want people to feel bad about not knowing attack patterns, because we here at Cuckwire Interblacktive are all about making EVERYONE feel included regardless of skill level!

The writing was on the fucking wall when they renamed Beginner to Normal, but i'm still disappointed at the wasted potential.

People hate resistances because it makes you practically helpless against random zeds for no reason.
It was pretty well-established in KF1 and (until now) KF2 that Fleshpounds were strong against everything except explosives, which they were weak again.
And here we are where EVERY zed has things it's strong against, semi-strong against, indifferent towards, weak against, and very weak against.
The WORST part is it isn't even "my weapon makes a boom boom explosion, so it works good against Fleshpounds." No, it's "my weapon shoots bullets and is longer than a pistol but shorter than an assault rifle, therefore since it's an SMG it's weak against this zed and strong against this zed."
It's like taking chess, a relatively simple game to understand, and adding rules like "the queen can only go to this square when standing on this square when playing as white, and the tower can only take out a king on this turn while you still have your other tower left, and your king must move in this direction assuming you have X many pawns left or else you automatically enter checkmate."

The resistances make for massive extremes across the board that are absolutely retarded. I wouldn't have minded + or -1 shots – miniscule, yet impactful differences – in the TTK for certain things. Instead, you have to empty your entire clip for a few fucking crawlers, and it's significantly worse elsewhere. The 9mm is just garbage against this system and the knife means shit beyond flinchlocking a small zed (return of incap-locking is fortunately the potential grace of this update). And by extension, this new spongey fucking system simply undoes the benefits that came from increasing ammo capacities, plus the loss of defensive options through block/parrying and bashing (which is nearly obsolete now) makes the player extremely weak and underwhelming. Add in the overt radius reductions on the Demo weapons, and Tripwire has truly mastered how to just fuck everything up beyond measure.

Granted you couldn't always casually type in the middle if he was at a certain % and most are shy to mic, but acting like its a downfall just because now it allows everyone to see instead of one class who never took advantage of it, is stupid.

On our Wiki here you can see a detailed breakdown of each zed and what damage will hurt them the most and what incapacitations will stop what zeds in their tracks. now on paper you might think but wait the stalker is resistant to explosives this is going to be lame. Due to the health of the stalker and the spike damage amount of explosives a direct hit and even one very close with completely destroy her also, but if your shot is sloppy you might just knock her down leaving her highly wounded but not dead and still a threat. These resistances are very subtle but really make teamwork a must especially the higher up the difficulty you go.

The whole point of this game is to see monsters get shredded to pieces in satisfying ways, and headshots are naturally satisfying in any game, not to mention any game worth its salt will always reward you for them. It's only common sense to want headshots to feel powerful in a game like this.

What the fuck happened to Tripwire between KF1 and KF2? It seems like they got a good amount of things right with KF1, yet they are massive retards now with KF2.

A TWI tester guy posted this on Something Awful about the resistance system.

I've been play testing A LOT over the last couple of weeks and had some of the most intense and fun experiences playing KF2 in those final playtests once the system really started to take shape and I'm not keen on firing anyone the company because they had fun during a play test.

Sharps hate a shitload of fast moving trash
Berserkers were retarded strong but still vulnerable against Husks and Siren parades
Medics hated Sirens and were generally armed with weapons that were less specialized for killing
Commandos had a harder time against Scrakers and FPs
Support was a fucking OP shit that could kill anything, but limited by low ammo reserves
Demos hated Sirens for blowing up pipes, and small amounts of trash that got too close
Firebugs actually became extremely good at drawing Husk aggro and even removing them with later DLC weapons (flareguns not being p2win my ass), but their loadouts only allowed either being even better at trash removal or hunting bigger zeds

Alright, I'm too busy atm to get seriously stuck in, but after about 3 hours, I reckon:

I like it, it feels pretty good when I'm playing. The Railgun is insanely strong and will probably catch a nerf, but I'm actually enjoying playing SS myself, I have a lot of fun with it.

>Containment Station & Hostile Grounds
Not much to say really. I like Grounds a lot more than Containment but they're honestly not massively different. One is alleyways and the metro, one is corridors and, well, corridors.

I like that I can see my weight in-game now, and I like the new perk menu look, as well as the grey effects. Not much else to say really.

I don't really know if the change is for the better or not, but I do love the feeling of cracking his shield so that's something. Nice to get through an entire Hans fight without having to be raped three times.

>Resistances
I'm going to be honest, I've played on Sui so I don't know yet what it's like on HOE, but I'm not thrilled about it in general. It's amazing how much damage Stalkers can take, and bloats are just walking boulders now. I think misakes were made on this front. Some of these need to be seriously toned down.

I am genuinely glad this was added. Hopefully we'll have less retards jumping into Suicidal at their very first game and walking up to me during a Scrake fight and asking "Excuse me Mister but how do I see how much health I have?". That actually happened once btw.

It took them 14 months before they finally released a perk everyone asked for.

If they wanted to change the incap system they could've easily tweaked stumble/stun values and added perk skills to give more stun/stumble than using it as an off perk.

As a casual scum I'm having fun with this update, the railgun is super fun, the m14 scope is nice, I'm starting to like LAR and freezing grenades are cool, although the big guys seems to ignore them altogether. Breaking shields on hans feels great.

This, kf1 vets would very rarely say positive things about kf2, but defending what is one of the most bizarre changes unironically? Nah.

The thing is all weapons had their strength in their own ways, ones you just knew naturally if you played literally any other FPS and played with the class for a short time.
Shit like stalkers being weak to AR's makes sense, mandos deal with them best with the ability to see past cloaking, but having it so if a stalker dashes by and can stomach and harass a slinger or support because it can eat handguns or shotguns shots up so much easier is batshit insane. Give them weaknesses sure so its a nice bonus, but don't give them so many fucking resistances at the same time where if you don't have that perk on the team, you need to pick up one of their weapons just so you can put a dent in them.

For every good player that was headshoting all zeds this "feature" takes away all the fun from shooting zeds. The best feeling I had while playing KF2 was always that moments when I was in the zone, popping heads left and right. If I was from early waves in the game (or sometimes even I've joined late) I would end up with the most headshots 99% of the time, even as a medic at the bottom of the leaderboard. Now it all feel dull, it's almost as fun as playing PvP.

Even with the new resistance system, Suicidal is child's play.

Resistance is a problem but there's also the fact that everything is an m1 fest now. There are no combos, no clever use of knockdown or staggering since bash doesn't stagger anymore. You just mash M1 and pray for the best for the bigger zeds. This is especially noticable with Hans's new mechanic where you just spray him down while he has his shield up. There's no strategy, you just mash M1 until his shield breaks and resume mashing M1.

Just look at the railgun, who thought that was a good idea? A level 0 SS can carry a team of HoE because of the Railgun alone. That's arguably easier than zerkwalling since the fucking gun aims for you.

Not to mention you can see class icons through walls. This totally ruins communication and it's no big deal if you get left behind because TWI wants to appeal to console players. Personally, I had a lot of fun fighting my way back to a holdout if I took my time, or trying to find my team I left behind by accident, and now that is completely lost because of that stupid feature.

If anything, this game is getting easier and is more frustrating to keep up with because of the new resistance system. I was a big fan of the game back in v1008, but if this is the direction TWI wants to go in, I'm fucking out.

It's funny because I was playing zerk and it kind of reminded me of the OG zerk in a few ways.

The current zerk is better looking at its skill tree in isolation, but when you consider the glowing attacks that don't give parry stumble, parry's nerfed damage mitigation, and the new resistances, I'm not really sure how you'd compare the two now.

I'd say they're about the same all things considered, but I had more fun with release zerk. I felt almost no need to EMP as current zerk though, whereas with OG zerk it was crucial for smooth scrake takedown.

I think I might understand why TWI is implementing recent changes. They probably were those shitters that died a lot, and spend their time watching that one good guy soloing the rest of the wave, wishing him to fail only to see him succeed. They felt like complete unnecessary part of the time, having the least kills, and getting shout at for raging sc/fp because "guys i'm helping by shooting big zeds". Now they made it so they are needed because their perk can kill specific zeds easier and when they die, the rest of the team is most likely going down with them.
