Actually back in the day, bio series was basically second or third best option for every weapon category, with "best in slot" generally being a 12* if that weapon category had one. It doesn't look like that now because they added so many new weapons, but that's how it was. No comment on the live series because i never bothered with those.

The main problem is compound techs are literally special moves just with a different name.

From this alone compound techs are pretty much the bread the butter of the class and with out it.To give specials to any other class would kill force and breed a hell of an imbalance beyond what we have now.

Here's a test.

Ranger is given 3 special moves.

The first move is a reskined op replica of the SUV weapon from PSU but it has been changed appropriately to act as a temporary stance with more mobility than the original move, which operates just like AIS without the robot. Basic, Auto target missile photon art, & super laser.

The second is a sat cannon but which more or less concentration where it can become a room clear sat canon "rain" or a single sat canon "god laser" for bosses.

The third doesn't need to be described.
All that with weakbullet

Now imagine a 12/12 of players only with special moves.

The imbalance comes from how short boss eqs and other eqs would be if everyone had specials.Stacking hp wouldn't work anymore because everything would be a tank and regular attacks would do nothing.

Many can't complain about the aspect because its a party based game with no versus mode features.
Personally, I'm against versus based games because they kill game populations with retards.

What made it so fucking imbalanced was that humans and newmans didn't get Mirage Blasts until three years in, and only on the Japanese PC version of the game. Even then, they were just rebadged versions of Cast SUV weapons, unlike the "real" ones they received in Portable 2.

There really aren't any good left rings to equip. You could put something random on just to get EXP for it I suppose. Or for the stats.

As for the right ring, Massive Hunter might be nice for SatCans or something if you aren't subbing HU already. Otherwise, Crit Strike or Perfect Keeper. You can't equip Killing Bonus, and you have Tactics Trap for PP so PP Convert might be a little redundant but it might be worth checking out
