Drop the grass crest for literally any other shield, maybe a simple rapier offhand for parries/forcing players back. Switch the hands for candlestick and the staff so you can switch the candlestick to the rapier if you have to defend yourself and don't have time to cast Flashsword.

Drop the 14 faith, the requirements for the candlestick don't need to be met for the damage boost, and it's so mediocre as a weapon that it isn't even worth it. If you want decent mage fashion at low weight, try silver knight gauntlets, painting guardian legs and yuria's helmet.

You can dodge those orbs by running around. Watch speedruns, you can find a lot of info on how to fight bosses more easily. Speedrunners have developed a strategy to kill every boss in the game in the easiest way at the least possible time.

It is as active as your sl range is, since the ng cycle has no effect on matchmaking.
In theory if you'd want to min/max you'd always pvp in ng++ in order to get the best rings, though the advantage you get from that isn't worth the time investment to me.

NG++(+++) is basically for farming +2 rings, as far as I see. There's no actual difference in gameplay besides enemies having a percentage increase in HP and damage. Just stop around SL100 and you can enjoy multiplayer through any scale of NG you like.

In DaS3, lightning is the universal weakness. It's just like DaS1 where armor that's specialized in lightning defense only just matches the average elemental defense of normal sets and everything else is a good 5% less ABS for lightning than anything else. There's essentially no proper counter to lightning damage outside of bug pellets and Dragonslayer's Greatshield.

There should be a tier list for builds

More than likely they'll have better Physical resistance and without a lot of invest in Faith, Lightning won't offer a lot more. I know that on Riposte in DaS2 Lightning did way more, but I don't think the same could be said for DaS3 mostly because of the change in how defense works.
To be fair, I haven't done any testing on stuff like that in this game.

Bottom line: If you haven't invested in Faith, just use physical. If you have, you'll get more AR from Lightning than Physical at very high Faith. Like 40-50 Faith.

For PvE Lightning is beastly, especially lategame since almost all late game bosses sans dragonrider/nameless king are really weak to it.
For PvP no elemental damage, no matter if infused or buffbuild beats a quality+blessed weapon. You will get higher AR on paper with buffbuilds, but split damage and the flat resistance reduction make them next to worthless. A 40/40/50 Quality+INT/FTH buffbuild with a clutch ring might have higher dmg output than a 50/50/15 blessed weapon quality build, but requires 5 levels more you can't pump into HP and you have shit absorption due to clutch ring. Basically Elemental buffbuilds for pvp sacrifice a good chunk of survivabillity and effective HP for a very slight damage boost compared to a quality+BW build.

Some had a good mix of offensive miracles and managed to catch me off guard and some just spammed the WA and let me skull fuck them. Also the cast speed seemed much faster than any in das2

Yes. Hits hard, lots of hyper armor, and you can create really fucky timing chaining combos.

This works well against light weapon users assuming you win every trade. If it's another great weapon user you'll have to out play them

The limit on slabs is so bizarre. With a second computer and some time you can infinitely duplicate any slabs you have. Backup, trade, restore. It would take a similar time to farming if they dropped consistently at late game. Less frequently than chunks, but still farmable.

Lightning damage is okay against shield users and that seems to be it. I think that only 4 or 5 non greatshields have greater than 50 lightning resistance, and not all of them offer 100% physical resistance. I got NOTHING in Aldrich invasions when I leveled up to 80 and all the way to about 110, but now that I am SL 120 I get somewhat frequent summons for it again.
Not non-stop invasions like before mind you, but still pretty consistent.
I I don't get any I just invade the Pontiff area as a Mad Spirit and I still get the occasional not one-sided skirmish.

In that case you are also good. It is pretty good against common enemies, good against certain bossee(especially ones you can parry). You will have problems using it against certain faster bosses such as Nameless King, because of how short openings you get fighting them.
