There's no narrative payoff to Geralt being an amnesiac, it simply serves to have an established novel character become the player avatar. Someone like TNO is the traditional amnesiac, in that depending on how you play them you reveal what the character's true nature is. This is something set in stone for TNO, whether you miss it as a player or not.

I completely disagree. You praise the game for not being particularly connected to the Geralt of the novels then it dumps you into the game looking for the grasses or whatever. What has the game done to make you give a shit about actually following through and getting those grasses back? What does it mean to the player? Beyond that kid dying at the beginning why does the player care about saving the Witcher Cast other than he's been told he's one of them? It's incredibly weak.

Dialogue failing to fire. Objects that fail to be interactive without reloading and hoping. Mostly graphical in nature. Textures or objects not rendering correctly, blinking in an out of existence as they return to gray. A lot of the wonky combat is a direct function of their tech work.
In general the dx9 rewrite of the aurora engine is a hack job and I remember the pc version of kotor 1 as being fairly buggy as well. The immature cd project just wasn't up for it.

O'Dimm turning into a beast form would have made no sense for his character. If he wanted to kill Geralt, he'd freeze time and put spoons in his eyes or whatever.
What O'Dimm can't refuse, however, is a game of wits because he thinks himself the master of the art which isn't that far from the truth so beating him on his home turf of making contracts/riddles was great exactly because it wasn't just him turning into a "boss form" but instead actually outwitting him and solving his riddle.
