The crossbow is useless unless you take some skills for it in the combat tree. Then it can be a useful tactical tool for disabling monsters. Sadly it sees little use when there are multiple ones at the same time.

Once you're in blood and wine however the one mutation can make the crossbow quite the deadly weapon. Especially if you have the skills for it aswell.

It doesn't do much, still pretty similar to vanilla shading, just tones down some of the arguably too colourful aspects, makes night somewhat darker and makes caves and whatnot dark enough that you'll want to use Cat. Should have next to no FPS impact whatsoever, if any.

I've been using STLM 2.1 with a Reshade (http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1174/ I use the colour correction only version for no FPS impact) to tone down some of its brightness and am considering just going to back to Ultra with the aforementioned SS v1.1 Reshade.

I use the "White Wolf from Rivia" mod. I like my Geralt to be have a pale and sickly looking tone and be a guy who's handsome in an ugly or hideous way. His default skin tone is too rosy and his eyebrows too dark. I really enjoy it when I run by female NPCs who say flirty lines related to the fact they're interested in me because I'm a scary witcher.

Also, one of the sex scenes for the whores has them looking almost pensive or uneasy about the fact you're about to fuck them, which really turns me on if I'm being honest with you.

I have a morning ritual that I need to share. I call it "The Witcher". First I kneel down in the shower in the classic "white wolf meditating before a battle" pose. With my eyes closed I kneel there for a minute, visualizing either Geralt or maybe Lambert (but not the chick in the third one with the Elder blood because she never went through the Trial of the Grasses) and I start to hum the "Silver for Monsters" theme. Then I slowly rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me to proceed through my day as an emotionless, mutated badass. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my mutant leg. It ruins the fantasy. I think maybe I read too many Polish fantasy novels when I was a kid...

I will never forgive CDPR for not even giving us the briefest Saskia cameo to see her rendered and animated as a gorgeous Witcher 3 character.

As for Witcher 2, the character models are its downfall but it's still not terrible and overall they're not all that bad anyway. The game as a whole can still look pretty fucking good, both vanilla and with lighting modifications. It was very graphically advanced and resource intensive when it came out. Had all the bells and whistles of the time.

In the B&W quest "Turn and Face the Strange" (bonus mutagen quest), anyone manager to find the graverobber in ruins?

Seems like she (possibly she, and evidenced by Geralt's deductions the first clues at the grave) was kind of a big deal, yet just dropped as soon as you find the lab. I had originally thought she was the skeleton a few yards away from the Professors general. However in the next room the graverobber secured a rope and scaffolded over a large gap.

It just seems bizarre to me to go through the trouble of hinting at a character all the way through a quest and not show up.

The only part of your argument that has any merit is the voice acting which is admittedly terrible. And maybe the inventory management, although it's still better than TW3's.
Alchemy isn't any more or less relevant than in any other Witcher game. It gives you a nice advantage if you use it, but the game is completable without it, just like TW2 and 3.
The main story isn't any less engaging than TW2, if you couldn't find the motivation to continue it's your own damn fault.

Well the Wild Hunt epilogue is just the White Orchard part. Everything after that just assumes you're doing it before the finale of Wild Hunt since the world reverts to that state.

However Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine both take place after the end of the Wild Hunt as they both reference the event in past tense.

Considering they just released Blood and Wine the earliest we'd get any kind of enhanced edition would be next April, but since B&W came with a UI overhaul and other such things you might as well consider this the EE. The only thing they could really do is transplant all the B&W specific graphic overhauls to Velen/Novigrad/Skellige and then throw in another Gwent quest for a Toussaint or Ofieri faction.

I think levels in RPGs like this are more to enable and reward progression arbitrarily and help influence direction rather than to act as realistic DBZ power levels of realistic.The wolves in Toussaint are 34 not because they are better at being wolves than the level 2 uncool pleb wolves from White Orchard, but because the game needs them to be at Geralt's level and worth fighting when he goes there.

If the intrinsic "strength" of enemies to fight rose with how powerful Geralt was you would have to fight every shithole cave would just be over 200 higher vampires that die in two hits. The Witcher 1 sort of remedied this by having enemies mostly replaced by the inherently more swole versions later on but this only really made sense because it was a lot more linear and much, MUCH shorter. It was impossible for you to encounter anything really over your level except possibly the Archspores in the swamp. TW3 is just too fucking huge and open to do something similar without it being stupid.

Would it help if they were now called "Dire Wolves Who Don't Take Shit From Anyone and Like Metal" lategame instead of "Lame, Shitty Milkdrinker Wolves"?
