Still working on Operation Atlantiküberquerung, assuming the british territorys don't get overrun, I will land my primary army there.
When the yanks move up to aid there canadian friends, I will land in washington and new york with my Heeresgruppe B.
Then I move Mots and Light Armor to florida and try to secure as much territory as possible.

The question is: when do I attack?
If I'm lucky I can reach the British lands before they are fully occupied.
If I wait I probably already have researched nukes, also if japan does OK, the USA could draw all its attention west.

In HoI3, in my first Germany game (and first HoI3 game overall, had some DH experience though) I beat the Soviets without any problems and actually had more manpower at the end of the war, and I didn't even know how to build proper divisions (I think I was using 4xArm as armored divisions and 3xInf + Art as infantry). Soviets are a pushover. Then I got Great Britain with paratroopers.

HoI3 as Germany is easier than fucking EU4 as France. The only "challenge" in vanilla is figuring out how OOB works.

I was shilling HoI3 to a friend who seemed interested in playing, so I made these ridiculously complex battleplans in China, even naming individual divisions, to show to him. Eventually it just became a habit in that playthrough, and the battleplans actually helped quite a lot in amphibious landings where I had to manage many different forces across large territories. I managed to take all of SEA + Darwin, Australia in 4 months, mirroring the successes of the IJA/N's similarly autistic plans IRL.

This is Operation Swooping Hawk™. The SNLF that attacked Perth screwed up, so Australia lasted 15 days instead of 7. Took me hours to plan, but only minutes to execute, but the satisfaction was well worth the effort.

In fairness to Big P, EU1 was basically ripped off from a French board game. While I could be wrong about this, I think HOI is the closest they ever came to a more traditional wargame, and it was still based on the Europa (from EU1) engine.

I think the best thing that could've happened for Paradox would've been to buy out a smaller wargaming company and use their talent to take their own titles in a more serious direction. Instead they're going for this flashy 4X(ish?) meme stuff.

It's a shame but it just means there's a market being left hungry right now.

It's the kind of event that would be discussed in war colleges years later in in this alternate history that I'm making, and because I'm the one who specifically planned it, it just feels so good.

In July '42 the I. Infantry Corps in Java was relieved by garrison troops and took Ceylon. Burma had been liberated for some time so I had troops awaiting redeployment in Rangoon: two marine divisions and a cavalry corps lead by Prince Asaka Yasuhiko, who IRL allowed the Nanking Massacre to happen. These seven divisions were shipped to Ceylon and they formed the amphibious invasion wing of Operation Setting Sun, while the IX. Infantry Corps took care of Delhi.

At the conclusion of this operation, the British Raj surrendered unconditionally.
