The armour formula is not hard to understand

Each point increases ehp by some constant %
So if you have low armour ( < ~10) getting more armour increases your ehp more than buying hp
If you have high armour you have a large % ehp increase so you buy hp
As a result relative dmg increase from minus armour is most when final armour value is closer to zero

So this sub and the community as a whole was been asking for a lot lately, and I think valve deserves some recognition for them listening. I mean, we asked for some of the butterfly and heart of tarrasque quests to be changed, and they were. We asked for changing quests before the horn blows, and we can. We also talked about the tree challenge to be changed, and they put in a minigame to make it easier. They even got the "arcane rune" part of the rune quest removed. So thank you Valve, for listening and getting things done to quiet the community for just a little bit longer.

Dota is hard to get into but you'll have a bit more ease with having experience with League. Just bear in mind that dota skills are VERY powerful compared to their league of legends counterparts, with 4 second aoe stuns and a hero who's signature skill is a 15 second silence.(These type of skills are on usually on 100+ second cooldowns) Almost every single ability has a counter, however, be it a hero or an item you can buy.

Also, I have never been bothered by turn rate but you may feel a bit sluggish by it. This is a balance thing though; it helps keep AD melee carries good and keeps certain heroes from being too powerful (Like, the hero I like to play, Puck has a really slow turnrate; but that's because they have incredible abilities to escape and a slow turn rate makes it not too broken).

Heroes are very flexible compared to League; sometimes you can see heroes normally played as AD in one patch and Support in another. Lane set up is very flexible too; usually its 2-1-2 but lately its been 2 roaming supports going around the map and making an impact for their team in high level play. Sometimes you'll see supports trying to help their mid, or a support who stays mid the entire laning phase. Icefrog, the person who balances the game, doesn't really try and create a specific type of hero in order to fit into a single role; he just makes a hero and let's the community decide on how to use them.

What if duel gave STR instead of damage?

This is a bit of a rant but I'd like to point out how frustrating solo queue and solo matchmaking has been the past few weeks. Over 90% of my games have been over 40 minutes, most are never finished ~40 minutes. As I recall the last few patches have made changes to matchmaking and it has become much less enjoyable for me. Memeback rubberbanding has made pushing high ground impossible in pubs.
