I think the greater problem is that every Space strategy game wants to make you handle sub-planet level micro. It's a bit silly that a leader with an empire spanning dozens of stars is dicking around with build orders on some backwater planet.

Sectors kind of... like, wants to deal with this, but the AI is terrible. It would be much simpler if you could simply set an ethos for a planet (Focus on growth, science, industry, military, etc..) and it would develop in that direction.

Sectors and core world limits would be fine if this were more like CK2 in space with a slew of multi-dimensional NPCS to delegate shit to and their traits, background, stats etc. had effects on the decisions they made and the events that could come from them. But just shoving shit under shallow faceless AI control is bad game design, better to just mod up the core world limit and manage it all yourself and never use sectors.

With minerals and energy you can really mix and match the way you want.
The only real benefit of stacking it is easier edicts.
For research you want to concentrate it as much as you can so research assistance can be used effectively.

Since minerals are pretty plentiful I tend to mix them in on planets if they have bonuses but otherwise ignore them. Dedicate one or two planets for energy as that is the late game limiter on fleet size and rest of the planets should be on research.
>>
>>143998036
Doesn't really matter unless the planet has a global modifier.
Specializing is as good as just respecting the tiles and using your adjacency bonus sensibly.
Unless your planet is super small you should always build power hubs anyway.

You realize you can just go in game and type "research_technologies" in the console and then look at all the different ship section combos right? Or are you too autistic to handle that?
>>

Probably changing a file that's being overriden by a mod anyway.
>>
>>143998710
What are you editing the file with? Also Paradox has gone out of their way it seems to make this game have more issues than any of their previous ones when it comes to modding even though it's suppose to be "their most moddable game ever".
>>
>>143998710
>Why is editiong the modifier working for some people but not for others?

Do you have mods going? If so, does one of the mods change the defines? It could be that your change is being negated by some mod which has a defines.lua in it.

Actually I'd be content with just the first standard section combination the game throws at you for each ship class for each phenotype. Getting a screenshot of every single possible section combination is overkill as far as I am concerned. That could follow later for completion's sake.

When they make it so shoddily as to keep a glaring math error in after a handful of patches, and when they cram their leftist multicucktural ideology on you in their shit game then want to bitch about mods that go against their faggot sensibilities, yep, it's too much to ask that they get paid. Also when their only design and balancing philosophy is what works best for their inter-office multi-player session, you don't pay for their games. When you need a shitton of mods on release just to make the game enjoyable, you don't pay for their games.

Giving Paradox your money? Would you buy a fucking Bethesda game, too?

Because I like the genre, I want 4x/gs hybrid with space opera theme, at the base it's a game with a shit ton of promise and potential and modders will breathe real life into it, but all of the good that's there is in spite of the developers, their work, and their "vision" not because of it.

Also, I've spent more time adding mods, updating mods, and doing my own changes and tweaks than actually playing the damn game.

Shouldn't be a hard concept to get: I see the potential in the game and am utterly anally devastated that it likely will never realize that potential. It sucks to be in an age where computers have the ability to deliver games that we dreamed of as kids, but developers have gotten shoddy and retarded and just can't deliver.

Pretty much this.
Its even worse as they are not some nobody who just appear with a game but guys who presumably have tons of experience in genre.
There are plenty of things from EU or CK that they could used in game.
Like better diplomacy, way to handle vassals and sectors, governors and councils, forms of governments.
Heck even fucking map moddes and ledgers.
I told this before and I will tell this again.
Stellaris was done by a C-Team in spare time as a quick cash grab before HoI release. Success wasn't expected. I really wonder if Paracucks even considered to make DLC of it.

Yeah I'm sure the UI is worse in some games in the genre, but I haven't played them all.

I only played v2 briefly on a lan, but the UI didn't seem so bad. Maybe it was too brief.
I constantly find the controls and UI frustrating in Stellaris when I know how smooth it is to play so many other games in the genres.

All of it.
Bigger Empire is better. if you have few planets running that will provide you with spare pop and enough minerals you can colonize everything - fleet limits will not grow itself. You will also have easier times vassalising somebody. If its small you can always use them for mining/energy when respecing your big planet for full research and stacking bonuses on them.
Thing is wide is better than tall but it can also cost at first but t pay more after.
thing is if you play with core cap expanded or not?

It's not procedural though, they're already modelled.

Like, imagine a ship section with a total of 12 weapon-slots; on it, there 12 small mounts, 6 medium mounts, and 3 large mounts already modeled.
If the player says "I want 1 large and 4 medium", then 1 large mount and 4 medium mounts become visible.
If the player says "I want 10 small and 1 medium", then 10 small and 1 medium mounts become visible.

Being able to choose exactly how many weapon or utility slots you want, without Paradox having to model a fuckton of different sections; example, a 12 weapon slot section has the following possible combinations:
12 small
10 small, 1 medium
8 small, 2 medium
8 small, 1 large
6 small, 3 medium
6 small, 1 medium, 1 large
4 small, 4 medium
4 small, 2 medium, 1 large
4 small, 2 large (in game)
2 small, 5 medium
2 small, 3 medium, 1 large
2 small, 1 medium, 1 large (in game)
6 medium
4 medium, 1 large (in game)
2 medium, 2 large (in game)
3 large (in game)

That's 4 out of 16 possible combinations, not to mention all the variations where the large mount is replace with a hangar mount, as well as the hypothetical XL mount.

Are you not reading what I write? They model 1 to 3 sections for the sake of aesthetics, and then model the hardpoints themselves onto the sections. A section as above would actually have all 3 large mounts, all 6 medium mounts, and all 12 small mounts modeled on it, but they would only be visible when that combination of weapons is chosen. It's not that hard to understand, anon.

They're not. Grievous is introduced into the canon in revenge of the sith. The explanation for his cough is never given in canon.

Genndy Clone Wars is not considered canon by Disney.

>>144018878
>So conformist and communal aren't worth it then, okay. I'll go for strong to begin with. Reminds me of that old batman movie where the bad guys turns some scrawny guy into a psycho monster dude using SCIENCE.

Industrious is 15% minerals, strong is 5%.

So give priority to Industrious.

Especially since they have weak.

Weak: -1
Charistmatic: +1
So by default you have 2 trait points to work with.
With the techs you have 2 more, so you go up to 4.

Since weak is opposite of strong and very strong I think you have to remove it to add strong, so you can't make them very strong.

If you remove weak and add strong, and industrious they have no points left, and then you can't modify them and change their preferred habitat anymore.

So you if you wish to move them from one type of planet to another you may want to take that into account and just make them industrious and leave them as weak.

I guess since they're slaves maybe habitability doesn't matter.

There are 2 techs that give +1
So you'll have at most trait points worth up to 4 points in total.

So with 4 negative traits and all the techs, you have 8 points at your disposal, so you can pick Very Strong(worth 4) and Venerable(worth 4)

You don't need to remove weak.
Weak doesn't give -% to minerals, like Strong gives +5% to minerals.
Only remove weak if you have to for adding strong as well.

Intertextuality.
the relationship between texts, especially literary ones.

Aka: Memes.

That's all episode 7 was. A star wars meme movie, not a star wars movie. Here's "that thing you liked from the other movies"

Example "Oh we need a ship, there's 'THE MILLENNIUM FALCON'"

"Oh who could have captured us, oh my gosh, it's 'HAN SOLO' and 'CHEWBACCA'!"

"Why lookie there grandma ET, it's 'LUKE SKYWALKERS' 'LIGHT SABER' omigosh!"

Ethics are pretty gay altogether in this game, each one needs tempered with a second similar but different ethic. There should be defensive pacifists who build up massive defensive complexes to deter attacks and aggressive pacifists who will declare wars against rising militarist powers so as to dismantle them before they become a threat. But that's probably too clever and nuanced and doesn't shoehorn in the developers political ideology.

If you want something original from Star Wars, I don't know what to fucking tell you man. You're barking up the wrong tree. There's plenty of sci fi that pushes boundaries, Star Wars was never that. It was always a very classic story, and it will never change. The reason it's so popular is because it's recognizable and easy to integrate for people that never saw it before. Go watch the hidden fortress and then act like you know about it. Anakin's story is depicted therein. The vader character (General Hyoe Tadokoro) is friends with the obi-wan character (General Rokurota Makabe) until he feels betrayed by him, turns evil for a bit, but then repents in the end. Kurosawa managed to make it work in the span of a single movie, while lucas struggled to make it work over three.

Not to mention that the essence of the music and the imagery for the empire was conceived of in The Hidden Fortress.

after all the existence of an Avatar project already indicated a willingness of the humans to negotiate for it so you could have easily had a more grey character as the boss of the whole operations who's conflicted between the needs of the na'vi and the future of his homeworld with the necessary grey nature coming from the fact that it was the humans who fucked up their own home in the first place

And it's shaping up to be even worse than PDM. While PDM just drowned you in money and said fuck it, Relativity gives you almost no resources at all, to "lengthen the experience"

First impression, he split all resources into secondaries. Energy is now not the same thing as money, there's energy credits and fission power.
There are minerals and tritanium, you need to build a building that transforms fission power and tritanium into minerals.
And now there's both food and nutrients. There's no more food building, and I have no idea what nutrients are for.

That's some really dumb calculations because it doesn't take into account population density. It just assumes humanity is spread evenly across all the land they can claim is occupied by humans. In reality, nuking the eastern seaboard of Amerca, the coast of China, southern India, and major European cities would do 80% of the job. Spend the remaining nukes destroying valuable infrastructure and arable farmland and humanity is done.

while we don't have the mass of the ship, it is 1.6km long and measures 330 by 210m, though it does have an elongated structure and is optimized
still I could not see it weigh any less than 500 metric tons
now its maximum velocity is 209,537 km/s or about 0.7c

if we just apply the simple formula for kinetic energy we get 1,097e+22 joules
now this might not say a lot to you but lets put that in megaton of tnt shall we
this would bring us at 2,623 MILLION megatons of tnt

interestingly if we take the slightly less conservative mass of 2000 metric tons the impact of one of the ships used in Avatar with the planet would be about 1/10th the energy of the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs

I'd say at this point wiping out the Na'vi becomes less of a matter of HFY wanking and more a matter of dedication

at the very least a single ship impact with Pandora's surface would deforest a sufficiently large area for unobstructed mining

heck they could send Jake a 3 year warning to get every living creature they can out of the impact radius and still he wouldn't be capable of doing anything about it because that sucker is traveling at 0.7c and has no means of slowing down

>four section ringworld, where each section has 4 powerplants that produce 115 energy each, 4 mines that produce 115 minerals each, 2 farms that produce 75 food each, a guranteed 10 influence tile, 75 physics tile, 75 engineering tile, 75 society tile, and one more tile of 75 more of one type of science
>same as before, but 12 ring sections, and you're guranteed to get enough of each resource to build a major refinery and two minor refineries on every planet with that resource.

Unfortunately, it looks like only the player can start with those super-systems, so no rapid ringworld battlan matches.

depends on how far apart the views are, but the point is that if you draw a straight line out to the horizon from each point of view, the point where those lines intersect is the distance of zero motion, objects behind should move opposite to objects in front, with no clear break

the fact that all red points move uniformly and have a clear break with their closest green counterparts makes it a flat plane with some kind of projection error

and on what basis do you assume that they WOULD HAVE ABSOLUTELY 100% KNOWN FOR SURE?

that's right, none, it's just your personal incredulity

the fact is that the "live" feed was created by tv cameras being allowed to film a projection at nasa, there was no direct broadcast from the moon, every source of information was carefully controlled by nasa, and there's quite a bit of evidence that the publically available radio transmissions were heavily scripted, not least from the mouth of the astronauts themselves, and that further a private channel existed that was not scripted, which shows up in public records as dozens of minutes, sometimes hours of dead silence on the line

with all this information control, other than monitoring the public broadcast as some amateurs did, what could the russians have done to know?
>>
>>144039694
I read that there was some deal between Soviets and USA about cheap grain that Soviets need. It was sold to them by USA for very cheap price(presumably to keep their mouth closed). After they acknowledge it, it was too late. It will hurt USSR prestige even more than USA.
Stalin was last true leader of USSR. After him high officials just keep plundering the country and keep close ties with West(as a source of money and luxuries).
Make you wonder if whole 'Cold war' wasn't really scare to easily control both side populations.

not only the first space station, but the basic ideas/rules that are still sued today, like the modular design, or how to safely deorbit that shit once it outlived its usefulnes.

The americuck response? empty out the last stage fuel tank on a spare saturn (a german desigend rocket), glue solar planes to it (that fell off) and call it a day. Also notable that they just let it fall on some aus farm after they couldnt keep it in one piece anymore.

Their first man in space barely breached the karmán line, let alone orbit the earth for fucks sake.

In short guy who is called Miles Mathis(the name that you can freely translate as a soldier of math - which I find funny for a reason below) write his papers where he point some theories. he has also have papers on math and physics, which isn't my strong point). Whatever.
In this paper the MM claim that Elon Musk is a fake personality a PR action by some agencies to pump a tax money into space business so they can defraud it. Its rather interesting read and he also write about other famous persona. In short whole scientific world is a scam where public money is pumped and disappear.
Interesting read.
