Great Farron Dart is the faster punish. If both are playing defensively, great farron dart wins.

The only way melee can compete is with infinite throwing knives. It's the only thing fast enough to reasonably counter passive farron darts. But it's limited to 40.

Raw infuse your katanas (if you really really like them) get minimum stats and drop the spare points into endurance and vigour.

Playing around with spells on my pure pyro, I noticed that great chaos fire orb into boulder heave causes this white flash to happen, and the 2nd spell comes out way faster than normal.

Everyone HATED DaS2 when it came out. Every thread was shitting on some aspect of it, even while everyone still played it anyways. DaS2 being good all of a sudden is the meme, coming from hipster trash.

All in all though it's not a terrible game, though it is the weakest in the series. Judging from a neutral standpoint, it drags on too long and is disorganized and rough, but it's still enjoyable enough to hold your attention through the whole thing. If you can get it for $20-30, go for it.

Anon, ENTIRE DS2 development cycle was a total disaster. It's by far the most horrifying case of false advertisement in recent gaming history, and this was the thing that sparked initial outcry as game looked horrifyingly bad compared to all pre-release materials being downgraded into oblivion.

Then people found out how unbalanced and retarded the game mechanics are. Funny thing, most of the actual problems of the game are still not patched or rebalanced like shit scaling, and it took Fromsoft like half a year to patch all major bugs and glitches, with some patches reintroducing old glitches that were already patched like a hilarious month-long return of the instaparrying monscimmy.

Overall the game is just shitty at its core. The art looks nothing like the first game with its weird and cool designs, it feels incredibly generic and western. Game was rushed into oblivion and hastily scraped together from half-finished assets. Most of the balance patched were MMO-tier and instead of balancing a thing they completely fucking destroyed it like it was with avelyn.

Humans are the only things actually native to the Dark though. They get all fucked up from the First Flame obscuring their identity and giving them that "false life" shit all the NPCs blab about, and then dying. Presumably once it's actually gone they'd be something different entirely.

Take one of the FotM raw weapons and buff them with dark blade using either caitha's or sunless

Carry a backup weapon that's dark or chaos-infused for when your buffs run out (scimitar works well).
Don't waste attunement/FP on deep protection, it's shit. Lifehunt Scythe is painfully underpowered right now but is still an option, use the sunless to cast it because the WA gives it hyperarmor. Gnawing spells aren't very good, the player cast version flies much faster than the ones NPCs use and consequently have much weaker tracking. None of the staff hexes are worth using due to either terrible damage, terrible tracking or both. The only exception is dark edge, which is decent for catching retards with its awkward hitbox and does good damage.

Hexes are kind of trash right now. You have no option-select spell like pyro has GCFO or sorcery has GCD and FFS and no real nuking spell for one-shot gimmicks. Practically nothing you have justifies the stat investment, which is basically the caster equivalent to quality but with none of the benefits.
