It's too dry and infodumpy to be an engaging narrative while at the same time there's too much attention given to lolis and boring people (the only interesting thing about them is their accent) for it to be a good way to learn about trains. No, Miyako is pretty easily the worst of the lot in the original. For S she has strong competition from Tsubame, though. I have absolutely no interest in ever reading her after story and couldn't even get through the 'Tsubame takes the lead' branch in the first place. Yamato just felt way too OOC.
